This is predominantly judged on a "who is more likely to win sports personality of the year" type test of mainstream popularity.

Rugby league gets plenty of fans in the north but in the mainstream nobody cares. cricket gets relatively few fans but everybody knows what is going on.

(Association) Football is by far the most popular sport, and so it should be, it is the greatest fusion of athleticism and skill in any sport. Boxing is probably a close second and thats why I love them.
Rugby Union is more popular then Cricket.

I'm not convinced, but it's certainly quite close. I remember the ashes 05 where everybody was watching and no work was being done in London. Hardly anyone got up for the famous rugby union final.

I love them both personally. The ones on the list I'm not so keen on are F1, golf and rugby ;eague

NFL is **** in my opinion but i love baseball, cant get enough of it. Boston Red Sox i decided to be 3 years ago. 10,000 fans at Wembley were from US for the NFL.
I find it very boring but so is baseball!

            Really?

Did you have to watch the Great Baseball Movies to get started or did you just jump right into it by watching a game?

When I was in Norfolk a couple of years back I made an effort to watch as much sport as I could. I managed 3 Tides games, and 2 Admirals games.

I never really enjoyed the baseball, I found it boring and overly long, the Icehockey was awesome.

Same could be argued for boxing. People that want to participate in a game that has the ability to make them a cripple.

There is a college player named Myron Rolle that has to decide if he wants to go Pro {NFL} or take the Rhodes scholarship he won that will allow him to continue on his path to become a neurosurgeon. So what will he now decide to do: go to the NFL or go with the all-expense paid scholarship for two or three years of study at Oxford University in England?

Why do we pay for a TV licence again?

When did the BBC last show any boxing? 1980's? When has the BBC ever shown any NFL games? Never to my knowledge.

So if your arguement is solely about Terrestrial TV i'll step out since I only watch it if it's Boxing on ITV or football that isn't availible on the far superior SKY coverage.
