Pacman today using his right hand is just too much for Morales... Pacman is now stronger and not loosing his speed in the highier weights... Jab gives pacman a problem but power + speed of pacman will be the factor of beating prime Molares IMO... I actually a fan of Morales but i see pacquiao beating him... But it would be a war till it last...

Morales loss against Raheem is due to bad match-upup.. Raheem run his life all night long and It's the first time Morales fought that weight..

I thought morales was past it by the third fight with barrera. He just didn't seem like the old morales.

I just watched it this morning, and Raheem seriously ran a lot less than any other slickster I've seen win a fight in a dominating fight.

He was pretty flat footed (HBO said that in the first round) and mostly just waited on Morales to throw so he could throw a counter right and finish up with a left.

He moved some, obviously, but, really... he didn't back into the ropes even once I don't think, and if you are moving a lot, your back will inevitably be on the ropes at some point.

Raheem just had the counterpunches working perfectly.

Manny Pacquiao's real name is KAKAROTO. he keeps on leveling up after beating an elite fighter.

Prime 122 Erick vs Pacquiao of 122 would be a classic.

i dont think the third fight is a total waste of time, ERIK & PAC wanted it, a lot of FANS of BOTH SIDES wanted it, Mexicans wanted revenge, Pinoys wanted affirmation, the FIGHT SELLED as GOOD as the other two ....

AFTER THE TRILOGY, I remember a lot of Erik fans, STILL BELIEVED IN HIM, I was a converted Erik Fan during the rematch and I was rooting for him with his Mexicans Fans vs David Diaz and we are on the edge of our seats the whole fight, if not all of us, most of us scored the fight for Erik...

I'm saying that Morales looked bad agaisnt Raheem because of the weight or something, because it wasn't like he was making the same mistakes that he did in the third Pacquiao fight.

                    Mistakes against Raheem
                    Not punching.
Looking sluggish and being beat to the punch with Raheem's timing.

Mistakes against Pacquaio III (when he was shot)
Not being able to take a punch.
                    Off balance for every shot.

The mistakes in both fights were corrected in the other fight by Morales. He took a good punch against Raheem and wasn't really off balance that bad. He was punching and landing (meaning he wasn't being beaten to the punch like he was against Raheem) against Pacquiao in the third fight.

I think Pacquiao should get quite a bit of credit for winning the rematch. Specifically, I think Pacquiao fans have a point in saying that it wasn't making weight or being shot that caused Morales to wear down in Pacquaio II, it was more that Pacquiao was punishing Morales to the body.

I do still think he was past his prime by a bit (considering the fact that he didn't slow down against Barrera in their first fight, and the body punching in that fight by Barrera was absolutely savage. Tons of body shots landed flush, and they almost all made me wince because they were so viscious) against Pacquiao II, but a lot less than most people make it out to be.
Taking a punch against Zahir Raheem and taking a punch against Manny Pacquiao are not even comparable.

Yeah... I'm on the fence about the third fight.

On one hand, Erik had lost 2 out of his last 3 and was coming off of a horrible loss to Raheem two fights back.

But, the series was split at 2 a piece, and both fights were very close and competitive.

I have a feeling we would be hearing more than a few people talking about Pacquiao "ducking" Morales if the third fight hadn't been signed. Pacquiao didn't have many options that would make him look good coming out of that one.

That's true, but... the bomb in the 5th (maybe 6th round) that Raheem landed was right un the underside of the jawbone on the side of Morales's face, and Raheem really stepped his entire body into that one. That shot was flush.

I'll take a flush pinpoint soft shot over a clubbing shot that doesn't hit the button. I just watched D-Hop vs. Warrick tonight, so I just saw what a relatively soft puncher can do if he lands flush.
