Raheem was a bad match up for Morales.

There is no way he was that bad of a style matchup though...

That fight was in no way, shape or form close enough for me not to believe that there was something wrong with Erik Morales.

I said before the two even fought that Morales picked the wrong fighter to pick on. Raheem's style was wrong for Morales's style. I was right. Raheem was too quick and too slick for Morales. Only way Morales could beat Raheem was to beat him like the way Freitas did. And Morales doesn't fight that way.

I agree. The last thing Erik needed, especially on his worn out legs, was to fight a mover with such a NEGATIVE style. I thought Erik might be able to catch up to him at some point, but he was always off balance and Raheem thoroughly frustrated him.

Bad, bad style matchup at that point.

I have to tell you guys...

Raheem didn't exactly beat Erik Morales Cory Spinks style.

He wasn't moving as much as you would have thought.

He stayed in front of Morales quite a bit, and really, just beat him with the jab. Morales couldn't even get started because of the jab, and Raheem put a good right behind it fairly frequently, and was just murdering Morales with a terrific hook off the jab.

Raheem started moving more in the later rounds, but... by that point, Morales had already been beaten by a man who was mostly just staying in front of him.

Much of what I remember is clutching, ducking down, countering, backing up, moving laterally....and that damned slippery ring! That fight took place quite awhile ago though, maybe I should view it again. Most of what I remember is Raheem countering well and fighting a negative fight and Erik fighting no real fight at all.

Raheem was running away in the fight against Morales. I was in the fight and the fans, both Pinoys and Mexicans were booing the fight on some occasions cuz Raheem was running away.
