its business fellas. fighters are willing and ready to fight anybody, its their managers and promoters who hold them back for business reasons. paul williams is an avoided fighter because he will be a tough fight for anybody. the logic is fight sugar shane who hasnt looked good since cotto and that was in a losing effort; he is a safe opponent for margarito. paul willliams is a last resort for any welterweight who wants high reward and low risk. also williams doesn't have a huge fan base, like a mosely.

pqill ignores clottey's and quintana's challenges and goes on the internet and claims no one wants to fight him.

that has been one of my problems with the Williams Camp. I have no problem with P Williams wanting to get paid but at the same time dont go around making hypocritical statements about other fighters when he himself is doing the same thing. Willams/Margarito will happen i have no doubt although its gonna take a bit cause of the **** relationship between Goosen/Arum. How i wish that both Margarito and Williams could dump their sorry promoters...

there shouldnt have been an arguement in the first place. yall are delusional pwil haters. its obvious. he is a big threat to some of your favorite fighters and he came out of no where. And you right quintana could have vacated it,props to him for taking the fight, but he really had no where to go except for williams cuz he wasnt gonna get a fight with zab or shane at the time. for quintana, he needs the belt as a bargaining chip. thats why he had to fight williams again.

A new fight is more attractive than a rematch.

People are guaranteed to see more action in this fight.

That last Williams vs. Margarito fight wasn't exciting at all.

Its not like Paul beat Antonio up or anything.

He wasn't even really trying to beat Margarito up....just survive.

i can't belive that this is still an issue....it is plain to see that pw and his camp, are suffering from envy. pw beat margo, there is no doubt about that, but then margo goes on a killing srpee, taking out the #1 welter in the process(doesn't matter if you think cotto was number 1 or not, many folks in boxing did). now pw and his camp can't take it...plain and simple.

margo did try and get his rematch with pw, that was turned down. now all of a sudden people are calling margo the number one welter, and pw (and his camp) can't take it. all of a sudden pw's career falls on margo....get real.

there was someone in the thread ealier that said something about clotty not being the star that pw was....WHAT!?!? first off, pw does not have a fan base. all he has right now is a loud mouth and a win over margo...that's it.

pw is only known cause he was the first to beat margo at welter in about 13 years. good for him, but he is not a star in the sport. make no mistake about that.

anyway, this crap is looking more and more like envy to me. "I BEAT THAT GUY! WHY IS HE GETTING ALL OF THE FIGHTS AND THE SHINE? We all know that Margarito made an immediate appeal for a rematch after the first fight and Williams turned it down. All of this information can be found on this site. Just do a search for Rick Reenos piece " Margarito responds to Williams". I understand there is going to be politicizing and game playing going on to make the big fights happen, but Paul and Goosens hustle seems grossly sop****ric.
