There was a rematch clause in the contract. I know for a fact because Quintana was bitchin about the purse for the fight but he had to take it.

Legally, a rematch clause states that you HAVE to fight the guy in your next fight or within whatever specified timeframe. So he had no way around it.

Being fair man, honestly, a 1st round knockout erases everything about everything, getting stopped in a rematch where it isnt close kinda ruins it all. Its like "No Mas" basically ruined the prospect of a 3rd fight with Duran, they didint do it again until way later when it meant nothing, i honestly dont care for a 3rd quintana fight, i think there are better fights for williams than that.
