Before you bull**** yourself into a further frenzy, are you actually able to produce any interview or some quotes where Calzaghe has claimed he is "the best ever from Britain"? The only person I can see who has is Frank Warren - when he was still Calzaghe's promoter.
This thread is pointless. We will never know if a 'prime' Calzaghe could have beaten a 'prime' Jones. One, and possibly both, no longer exists. If some people want to call it one way and others the either, fine - nobody can prove it either way. Certainly the video doesn't.Comment

At that time there was no such thing as work rate against Roy Jones. imagine getting hit with the fastest and hardest punches you've ever had thrown at you, a 4 punch combination thrown by 1 hand? better yet getting hit with something that was directly in front of you but was thrown so fast you still couldn't see it hit you, THAT was Roy Jones Jr back then. Calzaghe would have to find Jones in order to build his work rate and it wouldn't have happened. the fight would have stayed in the middle of the ring and Jones would have put on a show.
Calzaghe was always clumsy and easy to hit he was just always able to hang with his opposition and pull out the win, he was hurt a lot of times because he was getting hit with hard shots from lesser overall fighters, Roy Jones was light years ahead of those guys in every department you can name, speed, power, stamina, skills you name it he had it. Joe wouldn't have been able to find him, it's now 10 years past his prime and he went 12 doing basically nothing from rounds 8-12 so imagine back when he had some gas in his tank? he took respectable fighter and literally made them look like nobodies, he did it so easy that instead of people saying he's good they say the other guy was a bum.
I write the above to get you to understand who these 2 guys are for real, Calzaghe would never have seen Jones punches coming, he would never have been able to find him with all the leaping and weaving and he certainly would let the hands being low fool him, any second Joe would come in while Jones hands are low Jones would have hit him with shots he doesn't see, in case you didn't know he used to hold his hands so low so that when you hold yours up you can't see his hands, mix that with his exceptional speed, power and movement and it's a wrap. Joe was always good but Roy was a phenomenon back then physically, he would have outdone Joe all night no question.Comment
