Jones' opposition in his prime makes Calzaghe's opposition look like camp cupcake. So it's absolutely ludicrous for people to go on about how "Roy Jones never fought Calzaghe in his prime" when Calzaghe barely fought anyone in his!

And most of these people know it. They want to act like Calzaghe's now some top 50 fighter or something...give me a break. In 10 years this fight will be remembered as the night the boxing world said goodbye to Roy Jones, not the night Joe solidified his legacy. And certainly not the night he proved he could beat a prime RJJ.
why you always hate on calzghe for you never say anything good about him do you.

What would you like for me to say, sweetie?

        • Roy will always find it difficult with Calzaghe because Joe is a master of distance and good at adapting at peoples styles.
If you see Jones' first fight with Montel Griffin he was having great difficulty fighting a counter puncher. Joe could be the aggressor and the boxer.

Joe has already defeated Jones, Joe owns Jones period.

          • The fact of what happened in reality is that Roy couldn't pull the trigger against Calzaghe because when he did he got starched in return. Roy's reflexes aren't what they used to be. That being said, Joe's reflexes are not what they used to be. Want to imagine a fantastic fight? Imagine Roy vs. Joe circa 2000-2002. That would have been tremendous. So does anyone have a time machine or some other contraption? No! Well damn, guess you will just have to realize that we got their fight this year and Joe humilated Roy.

Good post. Sums it up perfectly. It wouldve been close either way. The people saying it would be a blow out for either guy are the real idiots.

why didn't Tarver get praised for knocking Jones out then. Why is Tarver not an ATG.

Jones never fought anyone like Tarver did he?

Goofs thinking Calzaghe beats a Prime Jones. It's not like jones hadn't been owned already at this point. FFS Calzaghe didn't even knock him out.
