there is no question in the minds of ANY true Boxing fan Roy Jones in his prime would kill Joe, there's just no comparison.. even at this old age with Joe at the peak of his career both him and Hopkins knocked him down clean and went 12 with him, they just had nothing left to build on. Roy Jones Jr doesn't even fight like that anymore, he doesn't even have the kind of power and speed and overall ability he would've had back when they were originally supposed to fight so in truth fighting Roy now is like fighting someone who dressed up like him and is trying to emulate his style unsuccessfully. this fight is 10 years overdue man these 2 guys aren't the same fighters they were when they were supposed to fight, one got better and one got worse, time took it's toll on both except for 1 it was in a good way and for the other a bad way plain and simple.

Pretty much. When all the hype, p4p inflated bull**** and fame is behind us, all it will matter is how one fought and who they fought and when they fought them. Joe Calzaghe's tape will show him trying to disrespect past shot Roy Jones trying faints in front of him and still getting clocked by slow-motion Roy Jones.

No one is hating on Hatton, the hate on Calzaghe is most understandable. The man as done nothing to prove himself as a ATG still he calls himself the best ever from Britain? WTF??? I mean, what about Lewis? He is like 10x greater and suddenly people are talking about a guy who had his last fights vs 2 40 year olds! Lewis retired with a TKO victory vs a guy who went on to DOMINATE the division with his brother, what have Lacy or Kessler went on to do? Lacy got schooled by now sub par Taylor (not the Taylor Kelly fought, a much worse fighter) and Kessler is STILL IN DENMARK taking "mandatories" or whatever they now call bums!!! Even Hatton has already taken way better fights than the fake one. Hatton >> Calzaghe imo and he's clearly the best out of Britain in activity!

workrate kills Roy. Calzaghe beats him anytime imo. As for Hopkins, Bernard is on his career best form and would kill the version of himself Jones beat.

No doubt Calzaghes footwork and workrate take jones out.

At the end of the day Calzaghe beat both Jones and Hopkins and people will think of him as the better fighter whether it's true or not. You can try and comfort yourself by saying he wont but history respects winners.

Truest post i ever read. Lets make this **** real simple, where was JC 10 years ago...fighting ****ing Kabery Salem in his back garden, theres a real good reason he didnt fight Hopkins and Jones then coz he'd have been opened up like a can of beans

I agree with you completely!!! I understand why people get pissed off with him, but it's just annoying how people start new threads for the same thing to be repeated and repeated!!! Can we not leave the arguement now???

Calzaghe-fights past it legend and tries to disrespect them-good fighter but not as good as people make out-no where near the best british boxer ever, he's not even the best british boxer sround at the minute Hatton is much better than him and has fought alot better people!

Hatto-fights the best out there whether he will loose or not, as he is a real fighter who wants to pit his talent against the best, unlike Calzaghe!-best british boxer around now, and my favourite ever british boxer (except Eubank)-Calzaghe's recent record doesnt stand up to Hattons, Hatton fights the best around, or his nearest rivals, lets see if Calzaghe fights Pavilik or Dawson, he wont he'll have a rematch against an old Hopkins!!!

                      Agreed?
