    I've never liked his excuses.
I suppose De La Hoya's win over a shot Julio Cesar Chavez deserves as much praise as Joe's win over Roy then?
How bout Marciano's win over an old Louis?

I'm used to seeing nut huggers on here too, like you. The kind that are blind and think Calzaghe's win over Jones is just as good, if not better then Tarver or Johnson's win over Jones.

Funny you should mention Roy fighting bums though. If we compare Joe's resume with Calzaghe's.. JONES>>>>>>>CALZAGHE when it comes to level of competition.
    Absolutely 100 percent correct.

Also to Joe's TOOL fans: Sin City IS NOT A ROY HUGGER. LMAO at that idiotic assertion.

the thread starter has a point. if ppl are going to call this a great victory for joe then people better start giving glencoffe johnson and tarver credit because they beat jones worse years ago (without getting put on their ass)

Well Tarver was outclassed by Hopkins, for one.

The fact is that neither Hopkins or Jones Jr. were willing to go to Britain to fight Calzaghe. Not because of the money, but because of the risk. They knew that Calzaghe was a formidable champion and he was too risky to gamble a loss on. It's also true that Calzaghe wouldn't leave Britain to fight. But, the bottom line is that had Hopkins or Jones wanted that fight...they could have gotten it, even if it meant having to go to Britain. They were the stars. They were the money draw. Either or both could have had Calzaghe years ago.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Roy was p4p and even B-Hop would have been a bigger money fight in the States. Also Roy was the undisputed champ at 175lbs and B-Hop undisputed at 160. Why would thye have to go to Welsh sheep loving mountains to fight the then WBO boy? Calslappy only became undisputed last year. Until that point going to Wales is out of the question. Even now, America is the biggest stage in boxing where you need ot go to prove it against your peers in THEIR primes. What you are saying is equivalent to expecting top footballers not to go to EPL or La Liga to prove their quality but go to Jamaica or USA!!!

That is horribly correct. Too bad the spammers will duck and ignore this.

Yeah I left it on your profile instead of sending a girly message by cowardly red k. Only bumboys use the s word.

According to **** like you Tervor Burbick is the best heavyweight of all time, and the great Glencoffe Johnson is better than Joe Calslappy!!! Definitely! Clinton Woods must also be great because he beat Johnson. The fact that RJJ was in a different class in his prime (as we saw V Woods) seems to have eluded. you. Look up the word SHOT FIGHTER in the boxingf dictionary before posting gayness to me. Prick!

I remember on many occasions during Roy's bum of the month period when HBO would be calling for a Jones/Calzaghe fight. Yes, Calzaghe was the undefeated champ at that time. I understand why Hopkins and Jones didn't go to Britain to fight. They were boxing royalty....the USA market...et al ad nauseum. But, this does not explain away the fact that the fight could have been made had they wanted to, or thought they could, take Calzaghe's belt. Especially in Hopkins case, a fight was negotiated but Hop pulled the plug because he wanted almost all the damn money! In other words, he wriggled out of it.

Please post those occasions. Specific fights and or times.

Jones had no reason to need to fight captain Back yard. If joe wanted the fight he could have come to jones and built himself up LIKE TARVER DID.

Your entire point is ******ed. Good job.
