For me, it was more about the manner in which Joe beat him. It was easy to predict a Calzaghe win. But not many people thought he'd do it in such a, for lack of better words, dominate fashion. If Calzaghe didn't gain your respect with this performance, he likely never will. He definitely gained mine.

How is it exactly that he would look more like old Jones if both those two fighters have wins over him.. and knock out wins. I don't get what you are trying to say.
im saying that jones brought more to this fight than he did against tarver and johnson. jones was taking training seriously and was in great shape for this fight, and extremely motivated, but calzaghe is more than a few steps above tarver and johnson, and thats something that alot of people dont realize. roy may be "shot" compared to his old self, but i just can't imagine someone would train so hard and look so good before the fight and not have any game what so ever. jones had no answer for joe, it wasn't that he was shot or wasnt trying, the problem was joe calzaghe, not roy jones.

give joe some credit, even without the jones victory he still had a nice little legacy built up.
Yeah right, If he was fighting one of those guy he would have been on the canvas again. Not just having a break dancing/slap fight like he did with Joe.

its not an excuse though. its more like reality. Joe beat a Roy Jones that damaged goods. Isn't that more of a fact? I'm give him credit, he performed great. Hes very resilient. But I don't think I'm spinning anything here, Roy is almost 40 and hasn't been a top fighter since 2004..

THEREFORE THEY ARE BIGGER LEGENDS THAN CALSLAPPY according to the ****** opinions of Brit boxing fans. In fact Trevor Burbick is also a legend for beating Ali when he had Parkisons. Duran, Leonard and Chavez also made alot of clubfighters and contenders into ATG's. William Joppy took out Duran! What a man.

If you don't like my thread and love Calsappy's pastrami in your bottom then please do educate me when he actually dominated anyone great in their prime. I do remember average fighters like Reid and Kessler giving him trouble though! The 'great' Calslappy probably lost to Reid, who the British press once dubbed as top 20 p4p! I find it highly ammusing that people rate Calslappy for his recent non-acheivements and would like to see someone justify the bull**** hype. Please do....

Pretty much agree 100%..I say this all the time..fcking bull**** Zaghe fans

how the hell is he a better version? he's only become older..trying to hype up Zaghes win by saying Jones is magically a better version. He's been shot to peices for quite a while now..but 24/7 managed to brainwash everyone.

LMAo you probably jerked off when Joe was showboating and mocking the washed up Jones.

The problem was Tarver not Roy Jones!! The problem was McBride not Tyson!!
