Why are they better than Jones, Hopkins and Kessler?
better opponents then Lacy or Kessler have beaten not Calzaghe

Some people need to stop placing all this pressure on fighters, and instead allow them to grow gradually and prove themselves before stepping up to fight the elites. Joe gains almost nothing significant from a Dawson fight, it's a waste of time.

Spot on. The only fight that might be meaningful for Calzaghe now is a rematch against Hopkins in Cardiff as his final fight.

Chad needs to think about rematching Johnson.
Yes, I feel those wins are sufficient to show that Dawson is a quality fighter. What could be said for Lacy's resume prior to his fight with Calzaghe. An old Robin Reid, Scott Pemberton?

What do Jones, Hopkins, and Kessler have to do with this? I wasn't comparing Dawson's resume with Calzaghe's. Just trying to prove the point that Dawson is a worthy opponent.

How? Just curious as to your response? He has beaten more current champs and was undefeated at the same time and he also fought more prime champions unlike Dawson who got his name on Johnson and Tarver (both 40 years old and had had losses in their last few fights) and only made four defenses of his title. Explain how Dawson is more proven than an undefeated 39-0 guy who has fought more current and former champs and still remained undefeated, while unifying the SMW titles and having about twice the number of title defenses, before fighting Calzaghe? I would love to hear your response.

I am convinced 100%, just as I was a year ago when I said it here and got laughed at, CHAD DAWSON beats Joe Calzaghe.

After he beats Dawson, everybody will be calling for a fight against some other 175 pounder... After he beats that guy, someone will be calling for some other fight..
Whatever Calzaghe does, haters won't be happy.

He had title for more than 10 years.
Was supposed to get beat by Lacy and Kessler.. He embarassed them both.
Came to America and beaten Hopkins (who owned mw champion 17 years younger just few months later), and after that has done to Roy Jones what no one has ever done to him.

              What else do you need?

I love it how people still aren't taking Joe seriously and saying that he has to fight a younger fighter to prove his ATG status. He already beat BHop and I am pretty sure there were about a million threads claiming his legend status after beating Pavlik. Roy Jones is only 2 years older than Joe so why is it his fault that some claim that Roy is shot? It's not like Joe is a spring chicken either.
Rematch with Hopkins would be a good finish but I don't think it would be an entertaining fight like we saw today. I REALLY loved watching this fight. Probably would have been even better if it happened 5 years ago but you get what you get and I am VERY happy with the quality of fight I saw today

Back in the day Roy Jones used to beat lads by throwing 7 and 8 punch combinations. He could barely muster up a 2 punch combination even after the knockdown. Take no credit away from Joe but the fact that it wasn't even close reminds me of Lewis v Tyson

Sorry lads but this has nothing to do with the post. How do you bet on this site and is it real money that people are betting with? I think not.........
