I agree, Joe pressures you with his 'showmanship'. The young'n won't know what to make of it and will lose his mental edge in there.

If anything, Glen Johnson has a better chance in beating Joe than Chad.

I think he means that Johnson can punch, where as Joe pressures you with volume of punches with no power behind them. Johnson has power and throws every shot with steam behind them.

Joe's work rate would be nullified by Dawson's punching power and hand speed. He has enough power to keep Joe from coming in the way he normally does, and the boxing skills to out match him on the outside.

That's right. If Joe beat Dawson (and beat him bad), Dawson would be crapped on just like Pavlik and Lacy have been by a large section of the public. Chad would instantly be dubbed "over-rated" or "exposed" and Joe will get little credit for the win. Some people need to stop placing all this pressure on fighters, and instead allow them to grow gradually and prove themselves before stepping up to fight the elites. Joe gains almost nothing significant from a Dawson fight, it's a waste of time.

I don't think that's true. Lacy hadn't really beaten anyone at that point in his career and as it turns out he was nothing more than a slugger. Dawson has beaten better quality opponents and has shown a better overall fight game, so there's less questions around Dawson and it would be easier to give Calzaghe credit if he did beat him.

Who are these better quality opponents? 12 rounds with old Glen, 12 with an old Tarver, and 12 with Adamek?

Why are they better than Jones, Hopkins and Kessler?
