I honestly don't understand why people attack Roy's resume at 175. He cleaned it out with the exception of DM who would not fight Roy on reasonable terms and would have been blown out of there anyway. Hill, Harding, Griffin, Harmon, Reggie Johnson, Del Valle - these were the top guys at 175 when Roy was the man and he beat them all.
Say what you want about Roy Jones but the facts are these:
- he won a world MW title against a guy who, directly after that fight, would go on to dominate the division for a decade
- he moved up to 168 and beat the man there who in addition was undefeated through over 40 fights and recognised as one of the sport's p4p best
- he moved up and cleaned out 175 with the exception of a stay at home Euro fighter who wouldn't have stood a chance against him anyway
- he went up to HW and beat a legitimate world champion there
- he moved back down to 175 and beat the man there.
I don't give a **** what all you pathetic hating muthu****as say, that is one hell of a fkn career.
to be fair... julio caesar gonzalez beat DM....
Roy pitched a shut out against GonzalezComment

Youngster? Homie you're only a year older than me so dont go there with me! Yeah Toney did it but dont forget he got stripped because of supposed Steroid use so thats a moot point there!Years later, James Toney does the same thing.
What you youngster don't understand is that Roy picked the weakest Champion and he was beating everybody up that when Jirov wanted to fight him, he instead goes and fights Ruiz and Roy got a lot of people asking him why not fight Lewis. Roy himself said Lewis is too big yet he weight as much as Ruiz.
If i find the video of when Collen comfronts Roys, you tell me why Roy looked like a chump flapping his lips but not even looking at Collens in his eyes.
Roy was gifted but he did a lot of cherry picking as someone pointed out.
No doubt that Lennox would give Roy a beating...The point is... you said he was scared to fight bigger guys and I pointed out that he went to the Heavyweight Division to fight a bigger man...So why did you say that if it was false?Comment

What i find ironic now a days. Back when i used to readh the Ring magazin, there was a section where people foiced there opinion on boxers. And they always had people talking down on SRL, i couldn't understand why because i was new to boxing. Later as i get more research read more magazines listen to commentators, then they then say how Ray used to fight fighters on his terms, how he used to fight fighters that he knew he could beat and gets decisions that should gone to the other fighter, would move up in weight and chose the weakest champion then today it hitme, same thing is happening with Roy Jones Jr. some like me who was around and saw Roys career play out and knew who was on top and calling out who, know that Roy avoided some fighters, But the youngsters say other wise.
Roy was great, he had a great career. But, to say he fought everybody i disagree. And late in his career he became way too cautious of a fighter when he made his rep ko'ing most all his opponets.Comment

I know man!
Look, I ain't gonna lie, I have barely seen anything of DM, but Julio just was not on Roy's level! Roy was tagging him with lead left hooks and lead right hands all night. He completely dominated that fight, yet people on these boards (you ****s know who you are) go on like Roy's 175 reign don't mean **** because he didn't beat DM - some Euro nobody that couldn't even beat Julio! Get the *** out of here!
To make matters worse, these are sometimes the same individuals who go on like Joe was the **** at SMW for 10 years despite the fact that he only held 1 belt and fought the likes of Sakio Bika and Peter Manfredo.Comment
