My answer is none of the ones you listed. I just plain don't like the guy's personality. Love Ricky Hatton's personality, so I root for him. Hate Calzaghe's personality, don't root for him. He's a very good fighter and will go down as an All time great, but not the level of a Roy Jones or Hopkins. Next time you create a poll take into consideration what other people actually think, not just your biased spin on it.

He's 45-0, he's won all the titles at 168: Ring, WBC, WBA, IBF, and of course WBO.

He had some soft title defenses (like Starie and Pudwill), but so did Hopkins and Jones, and Joe he fought a lot of good opponents and world champions as well: Kessler, Lacy, Eubank, Mitchell, Brewer, Hopkins, etc.

Strangely, once Joe defeats someone, the haters come out and say that opponent was no good (Lacy) average (Kessler) or shot (Hopkins, Eubank). No matter who he fights and defeats, some will never give him credit.

The purpose of this thread is to find out WHY.
Lacy was never any good, Taylor, coming off a loss wooped him.

Jones WAS shot, who are you trying to kid? Calzaghe said himself Jones was shot as an excuse to not fight him back in the day..now Joe says Jones is not shot?? he's a goof

Hopkins was a good win but it angers me that Zaghe waited so long to fight him, on top of that he stayed in wales for so long and even his Hopkins win is debatable.

Calzaghe has to many flaws and huge excuses that leave blank spots on his career..he tries to cover it up by using quantity over quality.

we still don't know if Kessler is any good, if e beats Hopkins then we will know..but so far Kessler is another "quantity" over "quality" fighter, he's got no good wins and lost to his only decent oponent.

On top of that, every fight that everyone wants him to make..he makes an excuse not to fight them (Pavlik, Dawson) and ends up getting fights against a shot Jones.

You can almost predict the cycle. Certain people will hype up his other opponents because they don't want to face the fact that Hopkins is his best win; a controversial one. And because these same people know that it was close, they pretend "it's not worth seeing again, besides Calzaghe would win clearly anyway."

          What motivates people like bsrizpac?
I think bsrizpac's issue is more a response to Joe's fans than Joe himself. I have no issues with Joe myself, but I am far from a fan of his and personally cannot take to him.

Some of the fans throwing Joe's name around and calling him an All Time Great is way over the top. Hall of Fame? Sure why not, but I will never consider what he has done ATG material.

I cannot like Joe for a few reasons. He comes across to me as a pick and chooser. He could have fought the best when they were at their best, but choose not to. I also don't like his lack of punching power or his attitude.

I don't go around spewing my dislike though and let others who do like him have their fun.

All great and unique fighters always get hated on. Also imagine if he was american and also white( makes a massive differance" he would be THE BEST. Also he fights a unique way where NO ONE has never stopped him or never felt the feeling of losing.

I don't like Calzaghe, but i do RESPECT him and his achievements.

I don't like his ****y-ness. Some people pull it off well (Naseem, RJJ), while some don't (Calzaghe, PBF). Also, his fans don't help. His style is something i don't warm to. Throwing a hundred punches per round, while only half land, and 1 in 20 do any sort of damage exploits boxing in its negative.

But respect is something all boxers should recieve. Also, no matter how many holes you see through his resume, it still has to be respected. Holding a title for over 10 years, unifying your division, having a W against RJJ and Hopkins no matter what time in their careers, is something all boxers would love.

He fights in a very different style and many on here only get excited by the skillz of mayweather. These guys genuinely believe that judah is a more skilled boxer than tszyu for example.

Calzaghe is a great, probably somewhere 80-100 on the all-time list.

Calzaghe is number 1 on the all time list.
