Why do some people hate Joe Calzaghe?

I think the main 2 reasons are;

1- His fighting style, and punching technique.
2- He only fought in the US once.

Pretty much all critiscm is based around those two points, only fighting once in the US makes some think he is protected, and his awkward style may turn some people away.

That poll don't show the reason ! I like him always have but he is overrated and hearing people talk how great he is I guess is what does it ! At least in my opinion ! Why did'nt he come to america to try to lure a prime Hopkins or a prime Jones ! Or come to America to better his resume fighting some American contenders ? I'll tell you why Warren protected him and moved him wisely ! And after he slapped his way over a 43 year old past his prime Hopkins all of a sudden he's this great P4P king ! And once the experts made him number 2 the Calslappy fans went crazy believing this overhype ! That's just my take on Calslappy !

Because most American's never saw him fight until Lacy (When is was 35 years old) and for some reason believe there was a ton of SMW that he should have fought but didn't in the years before that.

Not figting on HBO = Fighting a bum it seems.

They also mysteriously think he can't punch, dispite all the evidence.

I don't hate him. Hate's a strong word. I just dislike because of the way acts. He comes off as a smug prick. He annoys me and so does his dad.
