It just seems like Calzaghe feels lucky that he won last time and doesn't want to risk it again.

My dream scenario is for Roy to ice Joe in 5 rounds (haha, I know), and then for B-Hop-Roy II to result in a 12 round epic battle in which both men taste the canvas. They are still exchanging blows at the final bell ala Sugar Shane and DLH. They go to the cards for a split draw. they both bury the hatchett, shake hands in the middle of the ring, and retire- the two best fighters lb for lb of the last 20 years!
Hopkins doesn't deserve endless rematches like your making out. Roy is not icing Joe in 5 rounds lol he couldn't ice Tito. Nard couldn't hurt Joe to anywhere near the extent necessary for a KO. He has neither the power to trouble Joes chin significantly given flush hard shots he's had off others and been ok, nor the work rate for a TKO. He couldn't come close to knocking out Kelly, a free standing target he could hit at will.
Calzaghe had a poor performance and is wise to Hopkins tactics and styles now, he wins clearer in a rematch which he won't get. I have full respect for his win the other weekend, but it doesn't vindicate 2 losses to Taylor either. Styles make fights.Last edited by Kris Silver; 10-23-2008, 12:42 PM.

In the last few days, both Calzaghe and Jones showed no interest in a rematch with Hopkins. Calzaghe won a close decision over Hopkins in April, while Jones won a decision over Hopkins in 1993.
