during the whole fight, ya damn right B-HOP was robbed.

throwing punches and not landing doesnt make you an all time great

I think calzaghe legitimately landed as much punches as kelly pavlik
did on saturday...... and thats the truth
I thought I knew everything too when I was 17. I was arrogant and wouldn't accept anyone else's opinion over my own.

Once I grew up, I looked back and realized I used to be ******.

No, Joe was landing a lot, more and more as the fight went on. Some punches hurt B-Hop.

Download the fight from our videos section and watch it again. Watch carefully and try to be objective and fair.

The fight was a dookie fight where neither guy landed many punches. Alot of Joes punches were arm punches and glove punches. And Hopkins barely threw anything but did land his punches when he threw.

It's one of the hardest fights to say who truly won because bhop didn't do much and joe just looked like utter ****. And Bhop looked gassed later in the fight.

Not that as much as I want to have some of these people shut up already. He's a hell of a good fighter who deserves a lot more respect than he gets here. I'm reading in another post with a poll that over 20 people don't think he belongs in the HOF and I'm thinking, WTF?

I do believe Joe TRIED to have a fight. Hopkins appeared to want nothing to do with him, though. You can't knock Joe for trying.

I wonder how many people here could catch Bernard with a punch? I know I could, cause I'm brilliant, fast, and good looking, but the rest of you ladies I'm not so sure about...

Seriously though. Fighting Hopkins must be pretty darn tricky. In fact it was proved yet again in the Pavlik fight. Here's a guy who's used to throwing about 100 punches per round. But how many shots did Pavlik actually land? And how many of those did anything at all?

            The answer is... NONE.

So, it's the same for anyone who fights Hopkins. He is a slippery customer. that's all there is to it. Considering all of this, Joe didn't actually do that badly.

I was reading another forum earlier (ESB). There's a comments page for a recent article and I was astounded at the difference between the posts here and there. It seems only this board is this bad. Elsewhere, people tend to be far less narrow-minded on the subject of Calzaghe.

Punch stats for that fight for Calzaghe was a mess.

He never landed anything clean or decisive.

No one does. It's Bernard Hopkins he was fighting.

There is a lot of resentment of British fighters here (especially Calzaghe and Hatton). I guess their fans provoke some of it, but it is still way over the top. I'm mostly indifferent to where a boxer comes from so I try to see it for what it is.

Nothing clean? Your eyes are to slow for the speed of Calzaghe!
