And even then, he was making Nunn miss. He was also in horrible condition for the Tiberi fight.

Griffin rarely hit him with more than one shot at a time, and Toney won those fights in my eyes.

He was weight drained for Jones and Jones is so fast there's no way to react to all the stuff he throws.

Thadzi was just a bad performance, Toney had no business losing to him.

And that's the difference there, even when Pernel was coked out he would never get hit like James got hit. And Winky had a terrible defense early on. Taylor also busted through that hight guard of his. I want to see Winky so bad against Pavlik. Can you imagina a white shark hitting a turtle. That's really what will be happening if this fight ever materializes.
Vitaly has a great defense, but nobody seems to mention it.

Yes he did, the DLH fight was his last very good performance, he was getting hit by Rivera in both their fights and Hurtado in their fight, he got hit quite a bit after the DLH fight as well when he was on coke.

Taylor didn't really bust through his guard, Winky's gloves were hitting his own face from the force of Taylor's punches, there were a few occasions of Taylor getting through but the majority of it was Winky's gloves hitting his own face from the force of Taylor's punches.

Winky was more of a mover before he adopted his turtle shell defense, he got hit way more, his hands were much lower.

        4. Tarver
        5. Calderon
        6. Forbes
        7. Jones
        8. Vitaly
        9. Abraham
        10. Winky

            I disagree with that list.

Hurtado fight? Just cause he got dropped 3 times and later almost killed the guy on the ropes he was getting hit a lot. He got flashed down a few times, but nobody really ever took a batting practice at his face.

                Good points.

Both Floyd and Bhop take it to the extent of being overly defensive, especially Bhop in the latter stages of his career. It's more a lack of offense and a "safety first" mentality on their part where they get flak about their styles, although Floyd sometimes manages to turn his offense up a notch.

I also agree that some more aggressive fighters get less credit than they deserve while others who get hit a lot still come off as defensive geniuses.

He got hit quite a few times in that fight, Hurtado's tactics, as irritating as they were, was working quite well.

Question is can you argue that Zaghe is not a great defensive fighter?
