There's still hope for a Mayweather fight for both of them but the chances are slim.

I do expect to see a second fight between them around June next year as Arum has said, if they get past they're fights in January and I'm picking Cotto in the rematch unless the loss has affected him badly, I think he would have learned from his mistakes and fight a better fight next time.

I wonder if there is a possibility that Floyd is just waiting for the gigantosaurs at Welter to take each other out, and he'll decide if he'll fight anyone else there after the smoke clears?

The difference between in a Mayweather vs Magarito, is that Floyd will not stand and trade at any point during the fight, and he won't get hit nearly as much.

Floyd UD's Margarito easily, while making Magarito literally look amateurish.

Magarito does not cut off the ring very well, and he's not particularly fast, either. He would chase Floyd around all night, while being tagged with scoring punches, and not landing nearly enough effective punches himself to earn a UD. Floyd almost pitches a Shutout UD over Magarito 119-109 across the board.
Dead on post. There is no way that Margarito beats Mayweather based exactly on the above reasons stated. No chance.

Mayweather would be dancing all night, Margarito would lose & his fans would complain Floyd is a runner.

His fans should complain about why their fighter is a talentless neanderthal with low boxing IQ before they complain about dancing.

I wouldn't say Margarito is talentless, but he is too one dimensional & slow for Floyd. That's why I know Williams would probably take his title in a re match.

Cotto tried everything he could to keep Tony off him and it failed. Cotto was elusive and hit Tony with everything he could. Eventually that PRESSURE got to him. The size difference was a huge factor.

Floyd has never put out as much, offensively, as Cotto did that night. I don't see Floyd doing as well as Miguel in a fight with Margarito. Tony would do what Castillo couldn't. He'd stop Floyd in devastating fashion just past the midway point!

i think by the look of Cotto after being stop Margarito was one of it didn't happen tonight + he saluted to the crowd on all sides of the ring.
he will no what his up against the next time the pressure will be off him because everybody will expect tony to stop him again a good fighter learns from a loss & turns it a round hope he does do it so we get a trilogy
