Once the Browns and Blacks start dominating MMA in america, it won't be a big deal anymore. When Evans KOd Chuck, you could see the depression start to sink in on not only the fans faces, but other fighters as well.

Remember EMINEM? he made hip hop mainstream he was able to tap into a market that was being neglected in rap and that was the rich and suburban white kids.

this is a sad truth, this is part of the reason why boxing plummeted in america. Whites were sick of being ridiculed saying white boys cannot fight.

Anderson silva the p4p best right now and most exciting and crisp striker in mma right now is the champion and he has had the lowest ppv ratings ever!

when rampage came out to fight chuck the ufc fans didnt know who he was and were booing the **** outa him it took them a while to warm up to him.

even rampage said man these guys dont like me when he first came to the ufc...he said in japan the people loved me here they keep booing me.

            now they sorta like him.

Rashad evans gets hated because he is black! i remember they said he was showboating but when chuck liddell screams like a caveman all angry its ok?

1)Why do Boxing sites talk about MMA? Or cover MMA? MMA sites don't cover Boxing so why would any Boxing site cover MMA! If you want MMA talk or news go to a MMA site!

2)If MMA was gonna kill off Boxing why then is every MMA org dying off faster than rabbits ****. IFL folded,Elite X/C lost over 30 million last year and it's last show did half it's first ratings on CBS. Affliction was in dire straits till GBP came to help out and that won't last long. Pride folded! UFC is the only org making money! Ask yourself this if the Coutoure did a PPV by himself without UFC name how many PPV's would he do? NOT MANY 4 SURE

3)MARKETING: That is the major problem for Boxing it is marketed very poorly. They need 2 get it out to the people they need to come up with new ideas to market the sport.

4)Ratings: The last fightnight Wed on ****e did a 2.3 rating. If you think about that, that is PISS POOR. They have a netork that reaches 90 million while HBO did a 2.1 for Calzghe-B-Hop in April while they only reach 30 million viewers. There PPV's dont do much better than Boxing and when Boxing puts on a superfight UFC can't hold a candle to Boxing. Wait till Pac-Man-DLH and even Calzaghe-Jones and then go ahead and still think Boxing is dying.

5)ETHNIC PRIDE: Finally and most important Boxing is an ethnic sport. Since the days of ***ish,Italian,Irish and German Boxers came to America there own people supported them and this still exists today with different ethinc groups.

When Boxing disappears from Mexico,Cuba,Puertorico,Phillipines,Britian and the rest of europe then I'll worry until then I ain't worried about Boxing dying.
Your ratings argument is silly. You should compare that event to like a Best Damn Fight Night on FSN, not a world class bout on a premium pay network.

yeah and quality wise you can't really compare the Fight night to FNF's as most of the Friday Night Fights I've seen haven't exactly been up to par

that's gotta hurt boxing a lot, the fact that outside of the Versus and Friday Night Fight cards, they can't really appeal to a wide fan base on Basic Cable.

the best answer boxing has is HBO and Showtime, but that's obviously premium cable, and while on that topic, here's something I'd really like to know.

How many subscribers HBO and Showtime have (just a general question)

and secondly is there an accurate Neilson Ratings for how many subscribers watch each fight?

The only thing that allows MMA to be brought up is it is stuffed down our throats daily. Thru all the shows, internet and cable TV. Boxing only has premuim cable and PPV. See If we could see Pavlik, Cotto, and Vasquez on ****e like we can Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, and those quality guys in Boxing it would be different. Boxing has been dying since Jack Johnson lost his belt. Boxing is going no where. Its ere to stay and always will. When you got MMA best fighters come together and Boxing best comes its in the records books. Check and see. Boxing wins. Check Oscar and Mayweather..>!!!

well because UFC isn't shown on HBO or Showtime .. they have that access to the network cable

and if Boxing is supposedly so much more popular and superior how come they don't smarten up do what the UFC does and appear regularly on basic cable (Friday Night Fights does count, but it has a "season")

**generally as popular as Fight Sports might get, I don't think they'll ever have the ability to be a permanent or long term big fixture in the media.
