This guy makes it seem like the situation is worse than it actually is. We have HUGE fights ahead, plus Calzaghe-Jones has a 24/7!

Let me tell you, 24/7 is ****ing HUGE. It attracts fans and fighters. It glorifies the sport, just like TUF glorifies MMA.

Once all of the current guys start retiring like De La hoya especially, I think boxing will get its act together. Supposedly DLH is going to start airing amateru fights on tv and the whole lot.

One of boxing's biggest problems is the general lack of competitive fights on free tv. I never miss a WNF and FNF show and you'll be lucky to get even 2 competitive bouts on a card. I understand it's expensive to bring along a premier prospect especially one who has world title potential, but do we really need to see an entire televised card full of mismatches? UFC has some mismatches on occasion as well, but in any given fight card I'd say 60-70% of the fights are competitive.

Over the years i have learned to love MMA and i all ways watch the big shows IE UFC,Pride etc etc I watch more MMa than most !
But pugilisticly speaking MMA is light years behind boxing, and will never have the pure theater of a top boxing match !
Anybody that watched Cotto v Margarito this year will vote for that!
So for me Boxing will all ways be the DADDY of Combat pugilistic Sports!

You're just jelious that MMA can make money of that demo.

Or you're not really secure about yourself.

              Either way.

Of course. Why else would five schools and three organizations pop out of nowhere?

Right you are all being abit, lets say Fan Boy, you have to look at MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) as a way football fans look at rugby, i am from the UK and to be honest its bigger here than you think. Setanta Sports for one has a huge coverage. But the way i see it is that its just another sport thats just got more coverage now that there are more fighters. People say its a gay sport so what, i'm guessing your a ****phobic, i love boxing and i don't mind abit a MMA but saying that its because i have been brought up to love boxing.

In the end you have to give it credit for it growing to such a popular stage,
And yes people do love and watch MMA in england so i don't know what you guys are on about.
