I can't believe the narrow mindedness of some americans and I don't mean the ALT-Assassins etc, I mean the red-neck Pavlik die hards. They are so far from reality it is unbelievable! After rushing out this morning to open an account at their local bank in order to get a free rifle, they fill up their generators with petrol in order to power their computers, and come on here praising their new found god after one significant win.

We have the same in our country with Amir Kahn. Everyone is hyping him up as a super star after his olympic silver medal, yet he hasn't fought any named fighters yet or anyone that will test him! We are bad at hyping up, but no where near as bad as some across the pond.

I hope Calzaghe and Pavlik fight if they are both successful, because Calzaghe will ruin Pavlik, just as he ruined Lacy (another over-hyped star). But I believe Hopkins will beat Pavlik, and Calzaghe will emerge victorious after a close fight with Jones.

The fact that RJJ and JC is even happening is a bit surprising really. Who would have thought RJJ would still be fighting well past his peak? Its lucky for JC that RJJ decided to hang around like a bad smell. Otherwise JC wouldnt have to opportunity to have a legend on his CV of RJJs calibre.

Calzaghe is a little ***** who hasn't fought anybody good except an ancient b hop who he barely beat and got floored by. Taylor beat b hop twice, both times more convincingly and against a younger b hop. Calzaghe will never fight pavilk because he knows pavlik will punish him and joes little slaps couldnt knock out a junior middleweight let alone a guy like pavlik.

Identifying fans on here as rednecks is about as difficult as identifying a poster and saying he sounds like he's from Manhattan or LA or Montanna. How the hell would you know the difference unless they explicitly said it. Ultimately the person who made the statement was talking out of their ass.

I have to call the Kessler vs. Taylor argument like I see it. That consists of the proof of their previous fights and using common opponents. The statement about Taylor being less skilled or not as powerful is just that , a statement until proven that way. If they fight, we will really see. I think Taylor has fought better opposition, thats why Kessler seems better that he really is. I think he is good acually and take nothing away from Calzaghe's win over him, but he is not in the class of Jermaine and may never be. I see no way that Librado Andrade would have lasted the fight with Jermaine hitting him as manny times as Kessler did. Plus, when Taylor was pushed in his last Pavlik fight, he came back and did'nt gas out at the end like manny expected.

Roy Jones was and is still faster than Joe Calzaghe ever could have been or is. Joe throws punches back to back and seem to be fast, but in reality , he only throws mildly fast combinations. He's not all that fast. If you look at the Kessler fight closely, you will see that Mikkel acually was a little faster than Joe was. Not by alot, but when they punched at the same time, MK landed first. Joe was able to throw more sequential punches and it appeared to make him look faster, but from point A to point B, he's only just above average for the weight. The workrate is his key, combined with some speed. A fighter like Hopkins was able to neutralize that with accuracy and timing. Things Jones is superior to B-hop in. I just don't see Calzaghe Tee'ing off on Jones because of the counterpunch danger involved. He could see it end early on him if he does that, and i tend to think he knows it to be the case. Giving the ring smarts he possesses. That makes Jones a clear winner if his conditioning is correct for the fight. Which I think it will be, due to the magnitude of the situation. We will see on fight night how shot the "current" Rjj is, as you say. I believe you to be undercutting his once in a millenium abilities because of the events caused by a "lucky" Tarver TKO punch.

i agree wit everything you said, except jones being superior to hopkins in accuracy and timing. jones is younger and faster than hopkins at this point. so where hopkins didn't have the speed to get off on joe, rjj will.

timing is a different story b/c rjj will also get hit alot more than hopkins did...........
