lol, the hypocrisy in this article is astounding. He starts off saying how pavlik hasn't fought anyone yet and he is a one hit wonder and needs to prove himself in order to step in the ring with him. Then, a couple of paragraphs later, he starts talking about offering Pavlik fights twice. Once before Pavlik even stepped in the ring with taylor and another right after the first Taylor fight. And not only that, but the second offer is utterly ridiculous cuz Taylor had it in the contract with pavlik that if he lost, they would have a rematch at a catch weight of 164, so there is no way Pavlik could have signed to fight Calzaghe. This is just disgusting of Calzghe to do.

If he did offer Pavlik the fight before Pavlik had a 'name', then it would have been as a tune up. It's really not that unlikely, he fought Bika and Manfredo at that time.

certainly, he can't win against "the ghost". so why take the risk when you have an easy fight in jones?

Why would he be afraid of Pavlik? He's not the hardest puncher he's faced, he's not the best boxer he's faced and he's not the biggest fighter he's faced.

I like Kelly but he loses this one badly. Calzaghe has that one called absolutely spot on in that interview. He's wrong where he says he had nothing to gain from beating Jones 6 years ago - he had a ****load to gain.

I stand by that. I think the likes of Hopkins and Tarver could as well. If they fought John Ruiz - a guy who's lost to two former Middleweights, then I dont see why not.
