i dont know about easy actually I highly doubt that, but Floyd's absolute focus would be the key to deal with the hawk's workrate and side movement. I bolded it because I believe you are overlooking that in calling this easy.

EDIT: I'd put my money on PBF, but my point was more like "imagine what it would look like".

Mayweather has what I would call a "complete" or hybrid defense which relies both upon slipping and blocking punches. Whitaker had more of a pure movement defense (mainly head and upper body). It's hard to say which one leaves the defender in better position to counter. Another interesting comparison is to Wright, who has a pure blocking defense, covering up right in front of the opponent. These three pretty much epitomize the best defensive styles in boxing. Honestly I favor Mayweather slightly overall as with his adaptability he can fight both inside and out at will, completely controlling the pace and output of his offense and defense (and the inherent tradeoff between the two).
