Lets compare Floyd Mayweather with Pernell Whitaker

    Who had the better stuff.

    Jab: Pernell Whitaker

    Power: Floyd Mayweather

    Chin: DRAW

Accuracy: Mayweather's accuracy was slightly better. Pernell's jab was more accurate though

Stamina: Very hard to pick Stamina becuz I've seen the Jose Luis Ramirez fight and Pernell didn't get tired at all! He was extremely active in that fight and looked like a 15 round fighter BUT in some cases later in Pernell Whitaker's career he would get tired. I'm leaning towards Floyd Mayweather.

Body Puncher: Mayweather is an underated body puncher and has a good jab to the body...which has been a very effective punch threw out his career. The only reason I'm going with Pernell Whitaker is becuz Pernell would turn vicious for a couple of seconds and throw some wicked hooks to the body. Like he'd bounce around STOP then go Mexican Style on you. He'd do this often and that is why he was able to slow down his opponents.

    Combinations: Pernell Whitaker

    Footwork: Simply a DRAW.

Better fighter when they're back is against the rope: Pernell Whitaker would lay on the ropes, smile at you, make you miss and run your stamina. The problem I had with him is that he didn't always counter in these situations. Floyd Mayweather would counter and just landed the much better punches when put in that kind of situation.

Overall Defense: I'd have to say a DRAW.

I think Pernell had the better stuff but does that mean he'll beat Mayweather NO! I still don't know who'd win between the two.

So would you agree with this??

Pernell is the better fighter of the two and would have won. Floyd is an ATG for sure but Pernell is a top 20 ATG easy and maybe even borderline top 10.

Chins is even considering neither has really had there chin checked in the prime. Stamina is even he got more tired as he got older. Overall defense goes to Pernell. Mayweather can be tagged sparingly but once he has been he tightens his defense. Whitaker was impossible to tag squarely.

                Mayweather >> Pernell
Losing to Oscar Tito Jose Luis Ramirez and a draw with JCC. Nothing great. Mayweather would beat all these guys

I don't know about that. Mayweather has a good chin as we've seen in the Chop Chop Ndou and DLH fight. Pernell has been dropped a couple of times.

its like a mythical prime frazier vs prime tyson bout bro...i'd gladly pay $100 to watch..

pernell, IMO, was probably the greatest defensive fighter i've seen...a southpaw that was slick as ****...brilliant technician with great ring generalship

floyd is an awesome fighter...gifted with boxing fundamentals that only comes thru hard work, and bloodline....if those two fought, honestly, it might the only time we see PBF get frustrated against an opponent...in fact, it might be the only fighter that would force floyd to be more aggressive..and THAT would be a great sight...an agressive floyd vs a smooth-as-silk pernell
