Lets compare Floyd Mayweather with Pernell Whitaker

Thank you to! You know your stuff. Thats what I said. Pernell should have not clowned! But while Pernell was acting like an ass DLH was missing and getting tagged just a little bit. Making the rounds hard score. Pernell barely won that fight in my opinion.Comment

Hmmm I guess I could be wrong about the whole chin part. Mayweather has never or will never be hit by someone as powerful as Tito. Gonna change chin to a Draw becuz still we wouldn't know how Floyd would take Tito's shot.Last edited by El Dominicano; 09-01-2008, 07:49 PM.Comment

that's an impossible one, I dont agree with everything you typed like I'd give chin to PEA, but accuracy and bodyshots to PBF.
The main thing to which this boils down is that Whitaker was incredible in a more limited game, whereas Mayweather is more "average" in all compartments, and is the most adaptable and complete fighter since Leonard/Duran.
Yes, that is saying a lot, but it is what I see going on in the ring.
So if they ever met, what would do Pea's impeccable game? PBF bag of tricks? And even when assessing them against other greats. Who would do better against who?
NOTE: not saying Pea is a limited fighter in any way, just that PBF literally does it all.
I go for Floyd in a 140 suit and Pea at 147 , I wish Floyd had of hung at 140 for a while its a pitty the fights he craved wasnt there , I reckon we would have seen Floyds career best boxing at 140 .Comment

Flaw chill out man. Pernell beat DLH and you wana know whats funny. You just named 2 of the biggest robbery in the history of boxing. Thats Pernell vs JLM and JCC. Did you know Pernell won every round against JLM?? Not only that JCC only won what 3-4 rounds?! C'mon now!
i didn't know that.
they never wrote anything on boxrec.
all i know is floyd has 0 and pernell doesn't have an 0.

Yes those are the 2 of the biggest robberies in the history of the sport. Jose Luis Ramirez lost every round. Wana know if he had a close round?? NO. He was completely dominiated in each round. JCC only won 3-4 rounds that was another big robbery. Watch the fights.Last edited by El Dominicano; 09-01-2008, 07:56 PM.Comment

All the rounds were close, but Whitaker gave it away down the stretch.Comment

As a die hard Whitaker fan, I think Pernell lost the first Ramirez fight. It was just too much too soon for him. He gave up rounds where he shouldn't have, he simply had not mastered the tactics of winning a 12 round fight. In the later rounds he did nothing, and he looked a little uncomfortable at times.
