Hatton was an unknown. When was the last time that HBO covered a fight between two foreigners, on the other side of the world? Especially when one of them was unknown outside of his own country and had won no meaningful fights? And the fight was on at a time to suit the UK.
That Hatton chose to have the fight in the UK, at a time that suited a UK audience, and HBO were not happy with this.
You are talking about America, not the whole world. Of course an American Olympian will be more popular than a UK guy that most Americans have never heard of (before Tszyu) or is coming off of a KO loss (after PBF).Comment
