In 2008 UFC is out marketing Boxing
In 2007 UFC didnt Come Close to Boxing!

Is boxing as popular as UFC in America right now?

Boxing will always be more popular than UFC..
Nothing Beats a Highly anticipated Boxing Match.

De La hoya vs. Floyd Proved that in 2007
Hatton vs. Floyd Proved that in 2007

But in 2008, We had a bunch of OLD people fighting each other,
and alot of Non-American Fighters fighting each other.
and No compelling storylines that the public can be draw too.

The better question is which sport is marketing itself better right now...
      UFC would be the answer

Is there major boxing cards on basic cable networks?

      Showtime
      HBO
      Espn 2
      Espn Classic
      verses

Their are more Free Boxing Matches on Tv, then Free UFC match ups.
As of right now you can watch a free boxing match every weekend.
you cant do that with the ufc.

Do you think this fight will do better than Hatton vs. Floyd??
Post all you want to try and prove the economic recession is bogus. Trust me...it isn't. Spending has crashed and retail sales is down. This economy nothing like the economy of a few years ago. Your question is unqualified when it comes to the economy. Therefore, it's an unfair question as it's stated.

Just a question. If De La Hoya and Hatton do fight in Wembley next year, will that have any effect on the US PPV buys. Will it being in a huge stadium in another country help, hurt, or not make a difference?
