Is Margarito the most overrated boxer in history?

If you can't appreciate any of the technique Margarito displays, then you're not really a boxing fan. Just because Margarito doesn't have flashy technique or isn't overly quick doesn't mean there isn't skill there. I guess throwing shots from many different angles isn't a skill. Picking off punches with the gloves like in the Williams fight isn't skill either, according to you.
All Winky Wright does is cover up with his extra long arms and flicks a jab, but supposedly, hes one of the best technicians in the world.
Again, Margarito always displays technique and skill. Hes just so damn big in there that people mostly focus on his size and ability to take a punch without moving back and assume hes just a brute with no knowledge of what hes doing.
"Yo soy el Kong, knock ju owt"
You're hating weeks after the fact that your boy got man handled.
Let it go mijo.
First of all don't call me Mijo bro..that's a lil soft..
but technique and skill?..C'mon now!..his main focus and even he's stated it before is to let the opponent punch himself out and non-stop press forward the 2nd half as he did with Clottey and Cotto..and attempted to do with Williams..he creates his angles by throwin a variety of different wild/looping punches to land anywhere..willing to get hit..cuz chances of bein hurt are slim..
and by no means am I hating..and I've stated that before in this thread..and he did beat Cotto but ur sayin he beat him skillfully..I can't and won't agree sorry..Comment

How does one train to have more power, or be faster, or be more elusive?
Last I checked, those were god given abilities as well. One of Tonys best attributes is his ability to take a punch. Just as Manny Pacquiaos best attribute is his ability to hit you with power punches at a high rate of speed.
B..You use plyometrics and different foot-work drills to build lower and upper-body speed (unless you're heavy boned like Margs) even then he can work on building a bit more speed..and footwork for that matter..Comment

I'm strictly a fan..not a stan to where a part of me died when Cotto's 0 went..but that's not just what I think that's what many people think and don't say his style is exciting..because he has no style..and only his fans find him exciting..not ur average BOXING fan..sorry..Comment

To hear you tell it, Tony was just swinging wildly with his head down while spinning like a ballerina.
You're too dumb to realize you are making my point for me.
"he creates angles"
Thats a skill in the sport of boxing.Comment

A..You can train to have more power and perfect a swing to be more effective..
B..You use plyometrics and different foot-work drills to build lower and upper-body speed (unless you're heavy boned like Margs) even then he can work on building a bit more speed..and footwork for that matter..
That still doesn't negate that some people are just born with natural power and will have more power than those who train for it.
God given abilities menso.
