Not the most overated . He is however, exagerrated with that most feared bull****.

Would like to see him take on Williams and then move up and prove if he really is what his "Fans " claim.

I look at it beyond the whole "Mexico-Puerto Rico" Rivalry

        Cuz I'm 100% Mexican myself..so that's irrelevant..

Well this is no excuse but,,,, Mayweather, for example, was born rich into a boxing family and grew up with the nicest things in the nicest country in the world. He started when he was so young and was raised and taught by pro boxers right in his very own family. He was polished sinced the day he was born.
Contrary to that, Margarito, yes, born in cali, was raised in Tijuana, one of the worst places in the world. Wasn't raised or taught by pro boxers, didn't go to the best gyms or have the nicest things, but grew up taking beatings from grown men and eventually learned from those beatings how to conquer his opponents with sheer heart, so he wasnt polished or taught early on the great boxing techniques like floyd was. He had to learn through beatings and pain. And sure today his skills do not even come close to floyds, but i would have the highest expectations of him to beat floyd with his pressure, power, and heart.
Back to floyd, he grew up having it all and having easy, never having felt pain. He fought for money, marg fought for survival. And up til july 25th, Cotto was talked about like he was the mother****er to beat floyd and u floyd fans can't say u didn't fear him deep down, on the 26th, suddenly after Marg beat him down like a dog, floyd fans immediately called him overrated.
          '

Floyd fans just hate on Marg cuz they fear him and know it. Their only advantage over margarito fans is that floyd retired which means Margarito will never have the chance to defeat him so they continue to talk **** without the fear of being shut the **** up by Marg. Floyd retired undefeated with fear in his heart, while Margarito having five losses lives on with pride.

and this fight proved that statement..what would actually make Margarito an elite in the Boxing world?..his High work rate?..maybe..his iron chin?..ok?..or is it his tremendous speed...great footwork..stunning power..superior defense..or any other well-defined skill that would make him stand out?..

Bottom-line is..Him, his friends and family..and his down right #1 fans/stans can only credit him for 100+ punches per round..and his iron chin..

Again I'm not taking anything away from the man....he is a machine..but he's been exposed before..he can be exposed again..

If you can't appreciate any of the technique Margarito displays, then you're not really a boxing fan. Just because Margarito doesn't have flashy technique or isn't overly quick doesn't mean there isn't skill there. I guess throwing shots from many different angles isn't a skill. Picking off punches with the gloves like in the Williams fight isn't skill either, according to you.

All Winky Wright does is cover up with his extra long arms and flicks a jab, but supposedly, hes one of the best technicians in the world.

Again, Margarito always displays technique and skill. Hes just so damn big in there that people mostly focus on his size and ability to take a punch without moving back and assume hes just a brute with no knowledge of what hes doing.

"Yo soy el Kong, knock ju owt"

You're hating weeks after the fact that your boy got man handled.

            Let it go mijo.

But some would have us believe that he has had a greater career than future Hall of Famers like Oscar, Floyd, or even Joe Calzaghe & Roy Jones.

Is he the most overrated boxer in history. Guys like David Reid, Edison Miranda, Tommy Morrison were overrated but I think Margarito just might take 1st place.
hater nation at its best. nobodys making him out to be god(although he just beat the fiter some thought was god) or anything. let the man enjoy the spotlight he deserves. omg. cmon already.

and I understand what ur stating..

But at the same time..What Margarito excels in..it's not based off skill or a practiced trade..It's god given abilities..it's what he was born with..
                  .
How does one train to have more power, or be faster, or be more elusive?

Last I checked, those were god given abilities as well. One of Tonys best attributes is his ability to take a punch. Just as Manny Pacquiaos best attribute is his ability to hit you with power punches at a high rate of speed.
