I don't think he's over rated..it's just a phase right now..I mean he loses to Paul Williams..and goes on a "rampage" to KO some dude named Golden Johnson in 1 rd...beats Kermy again..knowin that dude has KO'd a bunch of nobodys as well..then gets the best of Cotto..and he's the top dog now..

I mean this guy does have the heart of a Lion and won't stop pressing..but skill-wise and definsivley..he's mediocre at best..no offense to his lovers..He's a big WW as well as Paul Williams..so he's expected to dominate in this division..

His next loss will put him back to where he's been most of his career...and that's..always tryin to prove a point..

With 5 career losses Margarito has managed to hold alphabet titles in 1 division his entire career. He has no real amateur accomplishments. He has already been defeated by 1 of the other titleholders in the division. He is already 30 years old. But some would have us believe that he has had a greater career than future Hall of Famers like Oscar, Floyd, or even Joe Calzaghe & Roy Jones.

Is he the most overrated boxer in history. Guys like David Reid, Edison Miranda, Tommy Morrison were overrated but I think Margarito just might take 1st place.

No he is not underrated because no one had given him credit until he beat Cotto. Soon he will be KOd by Williams though...who IS underrated.

Because heart can overcome actual skill at times..

and this fight proved that statement..what would actually make Margarito an elite in the Boxing world?..his High work rate?..maybe..his iron chin?..ok?..or is it his tremendous speed...great footwork..stunning power..superior defense..or any other well-defined skill that would make him stand out?..

Bottom-line is..Him, his friends and family..and his down right #1 fans/stans can only credit him for 100+ punches per round..and his iron chin..

Again I'm not taking anything away from the man....he is a machine..but he's been exposed before..he can be exposed again..
