Margarito was underrated for many, many years. So he finally gets on the big stage, pulls off the Upset Of The Year in one of the most memorable fights of recent history so that makes him the most overrated fighter of all time.

Only on the boxingscene forums, I tell you.
the thing is when your the best theres always alot of haters. and right now mexico is the best in boxing by far and thats why there is so much hate for the mexican people.

      thats racist mate
and he cant be that bad if he TKO'ed Miguel Cotto, who was previously unbeaten

baldo was the legit welterweight champ when floyd beat him becuz he had beat judah.. that was the public perception at the time.. thats what the media was hyping up.. judah was the champ before baldo dethroned him.. floyd beat both of them in consecutive matches therefore floyd = top welter

Currently, most credible media is naming Antonio Margarito the best welterweight in the division.

But some would have us believe that he has had a greater career than future Hall of Famers like Oscar, Floyd, or even Joe Calzaghe & Roy Jones.

Is he the most overrated boxer in history. Guys like David Reid, Edison Miranda, Tommy Morrison were overrated but I think Margarito just might take 1st place.
You are just an idiot Fake Floyd fan.

Don't worry Gayweather already pissed on his pants when it comes to Margarito.

There's a little bit of revisionist history at play here. Public perception was that Baldomir got lucky. And that Zab wasn't right for that fight. In fact, the perception was so strong, Floyd used it as the reason why he fought Zab (the loser) instead of the winner. He went as far as to say everyone knew Baldomir was lucky and wasn't worth a shot.

Baldomir was offered a fight against Margarito in the interim and instead fought...Gatti. I guess with his brilliant performance there, he was now worthy of a fight against Floyd.

Bottom line, Floyd bull****ted his way through 2006. Fighting the winner AND the loser? Ugh. Some things don't deserve a defense.

So Baldo was the top/best welter when he beat Judah?

You're not understanding the difference between being the best and having the belt.

There are times when the best fighter doesn't have the belt.

Now again, How was Floyd the top welter if the only guys he beat were Judah, Baldo and Hatton?

The top 5 guys in the division could beat those guys as well.
