You don't see me saying 'Mercado was ****' or 'Toney was weight drained' do you?
Yeah, lucky for Hops and Jones, they went on to do greater and greater things.

What did Hop go on to do? 19 (not 20) defences against mediocre comp at mw?

Why don't you reply to my post when you were the one saying that that win can be compared to the Hopkins/Taylor fight?

How is it a tremendous win?

Eubank had to go to Dubai and Eygpt for fights for his last two fights prior to meeting Joe. In fact one of the fighters he was matched up with had lost 4 in a row. The other fighter had fought 12 people with no/nada/0 wins. Oh and he had been inactive fighter. What does that say about where he was in his career?

Man, you keep proving my point for me!

Kessler was HEAVILY hyped over here - ****, didn't he fight Librado Andrade on HBO? Wasn't Kessler-Calzaghe shown on the tube here?

The difference is, Pavlik won his big fight, Kessler didn't. In turn, Joe Calzaghe has become a much bigger name here and will host his first HBO PPV this November. That's what you get for winning, not for being AMERICAN.

            Bias my ass.

But if Joe had continued to win against non-Americans outside of America then....................?

Let's be real here, Joe's comp in his prime was ropey but not THAT bad. Here's where you get to say I'm biased cos I'd suggest it was equal to a prime Hopkins. But the US only took note when he spanked a Yank.

Sorry I didn't reply toy your post, must have missed it in the rush. Anyhow, its a tremendous win for all the reasons I've already outlined. Calzaghe was completely untested at that level, Eubank was still a very good boxer, probably a better SMW than the Hopkins that fought Taylor was a MW. Calzaghe beat him in very convincing style. But I posted all of this already.
