We'll have to agree to disagree here. Calzaghe fought who he needed to in order to get the belt, it might have been Collins OR Eubank, which is all he could do. I regard beating Eubank as a tremendous win for an untested prospect, the equal of most other titlists first belt wins. This is why we Calzaghe fans sometimes feel he gets a raw deal. You don't see me saying 'Mercado was ****' or 'Toney was weight drained' do you?

Why don't you reply to my post when you were the one saying that that win can be compared to the Hopkins/Taylor fight?

Eubank had to go to Dubai and Eygpt for fights for his last two fights prior to meeting Joe. In fact one of the fighters he was matched up with had lost 4 in a row. The other fighter had fought 12 people with no/nada/0 wins. Oh and he had been inactive fighter. What does that say about where he was in his career?

Tszyu does not get the respect he deserves from a lot of Americans, Kessler is a good example right now if you compare him with say Pavlik. Of course, Americans who know what they're talking about know these guys are good, so this isn't directed at you.

Sorry I didn't reply toy your post, must have missed it in the rush. Anyhow, its a tremendous win for all the reasons I've already outlined. Calzaghe was completely untested at that level, Eubank was still a very good boxer, probably a better SMW than the Hopkins that fought Taylor was a MW. Calzaghe beat him in very convincing style. But I posted all of this already.
