there was nowhere else to run.

He took to voluntary knees. Whether it was to buy time or not, he simply knew he was overwhelmed and gave up. Look at his body language, he wasn't even dis*****g his corner throwing in the towel. Just like Cintron, he was looking for an out, meaning he quit.
Taking a knee was the apporpriate thing to do...he needed a breather where the **** is your boxing knowledge?? Dont you know what taking a knee is, havent you seen it done before?

I don't think Cotto really quite, at least not like most fighters quite. But he was pretty damn close to it by the way he was moving away from Margo and took that knee without getting hit. We all know he wasn't going to survive that round and that's all that should matter.

but u cant doubt his heart and will, if uve seen the last round of marquez vs vazquez 3 u would see it would take a superhuman ammount of heart to gather strenght out of nowhere and give a hell of a last round
I would never doubt his heart.. Vasquez is a WARRIOR just like Morales is a WARRIOR... You just can't say it was any different than Cotto quitting because Cotto is also a WARRIOR. Contrary to the JMMarquez hating Pinoys on here I think he is on another level..

            Ok, lets use your logic.

Had tio Cotto never threw in the towel and Bayless never intended to stop the fight, what exactly was Miguels "breather" going to accomplish?

btw, I have seen it before. Judah did it. why?

He didn't want to fight anymore.

              Hey ******,

Vazquez and Morales tasted canvas by punches.

Miguel went down on his own.

Margarito was working that ass that I don't deny, but I can't say with certainty that Miguel wanted out as I'm not his conscience. I guess I just see it differently brother. I mean what was Cotto suppose to do? ***** slap his uncle for calling the fight? Cotto is not known for crying like a pansy when things don't go his way. Overall, the better man won that night there was no quitters in my eyes.

Cuz he never quit and died that way. He was in a similar or worst situation againts Mayweather and got up and threw a fit when they threw in the towel... Morales was past his prime but it don't have anything to do with a his will to continue... Pacquiao had everything to do with that along with concerns for his own health and future. Corrales never had regard for his own life in the ring or on a motorcycle.

Believe me, I've said time and time again, Cotto did the right thing in giving up. There was nothing else he could really do. He lived to fight another day. I still think hes going to make for some spectacular shows in the future. In boxing, in some instances where one realizes that his health is on the line, I can understand quitting. What Rahman did a few weeks ago though is straight up *****.

A breather would have accomplished him getting an 8 count.... you have never boxed before have you?
