using past primed fighters as an example of mexican fighters quitting is pretty ******ed, once your old you just dont care anymore, ur just there for the money.

        quit.

With that said, I think it was the right thing for him to do and I don't really hold it against him as much as others do. I think there is still a great future for him but it will never happen against Antonio Margarito. I give Miguel his props win or lose because he actually stepped in to face the beast that is Margarito whereas all of the sports biggest names, simply refused.

That is where I get my like for particular fighters, whether they seek out greatness or not.

Cotto dared to be great. I love that in a fighter.
Well I guess quitting can be interpreted differently from person to person. I just don't think I am in the position of saying Cotto quit, plus with how rough that fight was. But this is a forum and everybody has there own opinion.

Your a ****in idiot... They aint warriors then... If you can't hang why even fight if your just going to quit. Why even train or talk their b.s. pre-fight. Don't matter past prime or not, if you quit you quit. Morales coulda gotten up, Vasquez coulda continued cuz Morales' and Marquez did it swollowing blood with broken noses.. Past prime my ass. I don't blame em for quitting but using an excuse for Mexicans while saying Cotto quitting was different and inexcusable is bull****... If you quit, you quit. End of story.

                  I don't think you're noticing the difference.

Morales quit at the tail end of his career. Vazquez couldn't breathe.

Miguel quit in the prime and biggest fight of his career.

and you're not too bright if you think Morales in the 3rd Pac fight was in his prime. He was already past his prime when he beat Pacquiao the first time.

Get in a boxing ring and actually fight someone.
Then if you want to call someone 100 times better than you a quitter at least you will have 1% justification.
Otherwise turn off your Grandma's computer, come out of the basement, grow a pair and get a job.
                    Good post.

For all who say Cotto 'quit' usually when a fighter takes a knee, they're buying themselves some time to recover when they're being overwhelmed. It doesn't necessarily mean that they want to quit. You can't chastise Miguel for using his brain in the ring, if you do then you're better off watching a Tough Man competition because you really don't know **** about the game. How can anybody know what's inside every mans head when in the heat of battle, you're not that gifted and you're not a physcologist, or body language expert. I'm sure Cotto would have preferred for the Referee to stop the fight on his own accord, but didn't his uncle choose to throw in the towel? If Cotto was nodding his head it was probably because he was objecting to the stoppage. Not taking anything away from Margarito, I'm Mexican but that don't mean **** as far as this is concerned because I'm not looking at this from a biased point of view.
