With that said, I think it was the right thing for him to do and I don't really hold it against him as much as others do. I think there is still a great future for him but it will never happen against Antonio Margarito. I give Miguel his props win or lose because he actually stepped in to face the beast that is Margarito whereas all of the sports biggest names, simply refused.

That is where I get my like for particular fighters, whether they seek out greatness or not.

Cotto dared to be great. I love that in a fighter.
      Great post

        I never said otherwise.

        So what is your point?

I've already said what Miguel did was good for him because he knows his body better than us. The difference between Morales and Cotto is that Cotto quit in his prime whereas Morales wasn't made to quit until the end of his career.

NO. What you're missing is that it's Mexican fans on this board who talk all this bull**** about being a "warrior" and "never quitting" and dog Cotto for quitting.

Fine, but when your fighters do it, don't pull out all the reasons why it might have happened. Prime or not a quitter is a quitter.

(before you get mad an freak out just remember that this statement is only using the same logic that assclowns on this page use)

All this talk about how Cotto didn't quit is bull****. Yeah there is nothing wrong with that. But to say Morales is worse than Cotto is also bull****. Morales had been in countless WARS and had taken Dozens of rounds worth of body shots before that 3rd fight, While Cotto is basically new to beatings. Cotto simply had enough and he didn't have the balls to utter "NO MAS" in front of his kid and countrymen. He could have gone out on his shield, how much more could he have lasted anyways, Or he could have pulled a Vargas and just covered up and let the ref stop it, I think that would have been more respectable than taking a knee without being hit.

You still haven't answered my question... What does a fighter being past his prime have to do with his own innate will and courage to continue?
For one, they don't have the same desire to accept the punishment that they have in the past. Two, their bodies are much, much older due to they physical punishment taken. Three, at the end of a career, your last fight isn't a gauge of where you can take your career afterwards, its the tail end of your career. Boxing many times is based on how you performed in your last fight. Morales knew he was at his end, why risk further injury if theres no more money on the horizon?

                Get it?

Lastly you turd, I already said Morales quit. You can throw out your Mexican buddies theory.

If you're going to talk to me and know I'm not an assclown, don't lump me in with them and their logic. I speak for myself and nobody speaks for me.

I've already explained why Morales quit and compared to Cotto who was in his prime when he quit.

Quitting at the end of a career is much less damaging than quitting in your prime for various reasons.

Even though Miguel quit, I still see him as a warrior because he stepped into the ring against a demon in the ring and gave it his best shot. Taking those knees was the best thing for him. I look forward to seeing him in the future.

I don't look forward to someone like Rahman though. He quit because hes a chump period.
