He had the look of a fighter who was waiting for it to be stopped, in my mind.

But I don't really care if he quit or not.

Miguel had a right to save himself from more beating.

Just so long as the bitchasses who tore Judah down get to eat they own faeces.
    We'll agree to disagree.

Judah didn't deserve the criticism he got after the Cotto fight, he showed a lot of heart.

        Did Ali quit against Holmes?
        Corrales against Mayweather?
Ali did quit, if some retires they quit.
        Kostya quit against Hatton.

I know these guys are great fighters but they did quit. If you retire in a corner it means you don't want to fight anymore hence you have quit.

In no way did I see Cotto quitting when he went through hell in some earlier rounds prior to that. He could have quit then but he still had to test Margarito afew more rounds.

God damn, I make a thread talking about how Cotto retired against Margarito. You bring up three fighters who had no influence over this bout at all. The DLH - Forbes fight if you want to discuss it please make a new thread about it. No one is stopping you.

It's about how Cotto retired against Margarito.

Ali's corner stopped the fight, he would have gone on if he they hadn't intervened.

Corrales would have gone on had his corner not stopped the fight.

Cotto would have gone on had his corner not stopped the fight.

Did Cotto look like the beaten fighter? Yes. Did he look broken? Yes. Was Cotto willing to fight on? YES.

I don't see how it is considered quitting if he is willing to fight on.

Does not being physically able to continue constitute quitting?
Because that's what it looked like to me.
Cotto was battered pretty badly physically. Maybe he just couldn't physically do it anymore.

Your comments have been right on the money as usual Silencers, saving me the bother of haveing to repeat the same thing. To me quitting is stopping when you have something left (Freitas was a good example you used). Cotto had the fight beat out of him and had nothing left. If you can't stay on your feet it isn't quitting.
