But the fakeass moral consensus will patronize and protect Cotto.

If this poll was 1 year ago and the name was Judah.

The outcome of the poll would have been an exact opposite.
but you have to take into account that Judah has alot of haters because of his attitude outside the ring and some of his actions in the ring. People who dislike him are going to say he quit because its a way to put him down and discredit his heart. in my opinion he didn't quit against Cotto. he got put down twice and got up twice, he was on his feet when the ref stopped the fight.

similar situation with Cotto, he got put down twice and got up both times, it was his trainer that decided he had enough and threw in the towel which was the correct call.

Vitali didn't want to stop after Lewis fight, he was forced into stopping. Not Cotto he willingly walked towards his trainer with his hands down.

cotto didnt quit gave it all he had until there was nothin left its unfair to think he should have to b hurt badly in order for him to not b considered a quitter cause he coulda quit earlier if he was a quitter he went throu hell to try n keep his belt but in the end marg was too big 2 strong and too active he fought the exact fight he need 2 in order to win cotto couldnt fight the fight hes used to fighting couldnt go to the body or anything being that he had 2 hit n move couldnt really stand there with him by the 4th 5th round it was obvious who was waring who down and who would b victorious

It was similar to Pavlik-Lockett stoppage. The diff was the fight reached 11th round.

I watched the fight again. And NO, Cotto didn't quit.

              That's quitting by definition.

If you don't want anymore, you quit.

The difference between the Judah fight and this one is that the Judah fight was waved off in the action.

Judah didn't quit. But he was mocked as a heartless quitter.

              In Margarito-Cotto:

Bayless breaks the action in one corner.

Cotto backs up into the other corner and kneels before Margarito can land a shot.

Cotto gets to his feet, takes a few paces and looks to his corner for help.

Help comes and the fight is over.

Cotto quit to live and fight another day.

He knew he was only getting hurt worst.

No spin. No sugar coat. Just the real ****.

It's there on video for the ages.

Now everyone just need to deal with it.

Cotto did quit. Why did he went on his knees twice, it's was Margaritos punches that made him knee but him quitting. After the second one everyone knew the fight was over. How he backed into the corner and his hands down looking like a shattered man.

The towel doesn't come in until Cotto looks to his corner in a world of confusion and hurt.

Then the corner step in and the fight is over.

It's cruel to see a guy who seemed invincible to so many go down like that.

                    But that's what happened.

The point is that he would have fought on had his corner not intervened, to quit means to give up, Cotto wasn't willing to just give up, he was going to go out fighting.

Taking a knee is a good way of buying time to try and clear his head and regain his senses, I don't think he would have survived the round but he was willing to fight thus he didn't give up or quit.
