It's too late for Taylor now, he'll need to find another opponent for November. Maybe Inkin? I like to see Taylor vs. Zuniga.

me too that was the only fight ive ever seen in my entire lifetime live on that top world level where a guy just looked like he got thrown to the wolves...i mean lacy was done after round 1...he took a full 12 round beating too...i need to lookup that fight i wanna see how many shots Joe landed on Lacy...

2 bad this is a fight I really wanted to see.
Taylor's not much of a ****er these days so it would have been a good last chance fight for him.
I'm sure Taylor would use his hit and run style for this fight, and would win most of the rounds but Taylor still gets ko happy at times which would have given Lacy a chance to catch him.

Jeff Lacy would have gotten K.O'd by Taylor if he continued fighting the way he did. Lacy isn't the same, I guess he was mentally weak after the Joe fight. Some fighters can get mentally weak after a lost. That seems to be the problem. I always said Lacy is overated but he used to be so much more, I'd like the old Lacy back

how is he mentally weak dumbass? he got rocked about 5 times and was ready to go and kept fighting back and never even went down, wouldnt a mentally weak person quit on his stool? or go down and take the 10 count? a mentally weak person does not get badly hurt several times yet still make the final bell. the shoulder injury combined with the beating his corner allowed him to take in the calzaghe fight has weakened him PHYSICALLY!! duh

Like WINKY said, I bet he's just pissed and is being immature about it. If he is retiring, at least he didn't take a fight just to take it and not be serious about it. That's an easy way to get hurt. If he's done so be it. From what he said you can tell he's pissed or frustrated with something, no telling. IMO Lacy has a long way to go, and if doesn't have the heart or will to get there then he needs to retire. He's made enough money to live a good life.
