Joe messed him up, up untill the Calzaghe fight Lacy was a great fighter and still is a huge puncher but he lost after that. His last 3 fights have been horrible, he lost the Tyspko fight in many peoples. I felt like he should have finished the bum he fough on espn and it looked like untill he got hurt himself. He can give it out but cant take it, hes not an outside type fighter his fight is on the inside but if you cant take punch your done, I think Jeff relizes that and hes dissapointed thus the reason for the retirment talk but Im not so sure he will call it quits yet, its not like he lost those fight so

Lacy has become the biggest crybaby in boxing. First he blamed his promoter and fired him. Then he fired his trainer. Now boxing is a dirty business. Proof of that must be him getting hit so easily I guess. Good luck selling used cars Jeff. You'll be back.

Good call! Zuninga's never been in a dull fight and he's been looking for a fight for over a year now it seems.

          Btw, what happened to Wlad-Owns?

              Oh man...

This is kind of sad. Lacy was a pretty good fighter before Calzaghe. It just makes me sad to see a fighter's career die this way. What could have been...

GOOD! I called that Taylor would destroy him if they fought and some people on here thought I was nuts. I hope the beating Lacy took from a no name fighter the other night cleared that up for you. Lacy lost that fight, got saved because they were expecting a big money fight with Taylor to happen, and thank God it isnt. Although Jermain is owed an easy fight for once in his life, so fighting Lacy would have been great for him.

Yes he may have won those fights but at what cost??? I can see him ending up like a Nigerian fighter I used to see, called David Izon. Poor David had a double shareout of "heart" and "bravery" but was short on skills. He used to win nearly all his fights, but would take such punishment (towards the last half of his career anyway) that it was really a crime to have him in the ring.

I'll never forget one fight, where he was battered around the ring for nearly 10 full rounds but managed to stop his opponent(can't remember who). The most pathetic thing was to see poor David thrust his face into the camera repeating excitedly over and over "I'm a contender, I'm a contender".....

Well he was only a contender until his next fight or two, I think he was persuaded to retire for his own safety.

this is what I can see for Jeff Lacy........and I hope I'm wrong.

Calzaghe ruined lacy! Mentally lacy is never going to ever be the same and I think he has realised this. Power to him for having the balls to hang-up his gloves. But, saying that no doubt he'll be back!
