....Good decision on Lacy's part. I just hope he set himself up well financially. Something just wasn't right with that guy and a Taylor fight had tradgedy written all over it.

It is a very dirty and difficult bussiness for the fighters though. Somebody has to come along and clean this **** up

What is Lacy, 30? Probably the best decision he could make, he was going downhill fast. Sounds like a bitter guy though doesn't it? I wonder who f***ed him over.

Man, sorry to hear. I liked Lacy. But if it's the best decision for him, then cool. Wish nothing but success for him in the future.

in fairness, he's looked like a shadow of a man since the calzaghe fight. his heart just doesn't look in it anymore, and there's a fair case to be made that he lost 2 of his 3 last fights.

he's achieved a fair bit though, and was a world champion of course, but i think lacy will forever be the name mentioned when it comes to how a one-sided beating can change someone as a boxer for good.

The guy was done after the whipping of Joe. exposed all his weekness' and after that tore his whole shoulder off. i mean, i had rotator cuff done biced tendon ripped off bicep tendon off shoulder bone and believe me, i can't even forehand a shot in tennis. imagine trying to throw a hook. you don't comeback after that. in baseball they do but worst thing can happen is the guy his a homerun. in boxing, these guys hit back. i did not see more than 5 tentative hooks from lacy since his comback. hope he has investments. cotto's first lost tonight? i doubt it.

A Prime Lacy would ruin Taylor, without a doubt. I think Lacy knows how much that injury has effected him now and doesn't want to fight on at 30% of what he used to be knowing he would beat Taylor easily in his Prime.

Jeff Lacy is no longer the same, his speech is even ****ed up to Rid**** Bowe status and he is no longer the same fighter, he doesn't look the same, he doesn't deliver the same and whether or not it's his shoulder he doesn't do the job anymore..

Boxing is dirty, but it's not due to the fighters, some are but he says that in referrence to the promoters and ****. in terms of skills he just shouldn't stress himself, I know he made a little money and has a shop in his hometown so at this juncture in life he doesn't need Boxing just a good business plan to venture into a new profession..

he may come back but I really don't feel he should, I missed the Mendoza fight and I heard he looked worse than in the Manfredo fight. with this kind of rapid decline maybe he should just retire after all, his life means more than any Boxing match and he should just do as he said, leave with 25 fights, former world champion and established name. people gonna remember him. 100

I will say that I DO mean what I wrote in my post but I also understand that this **** might not be legit, ain't no link or source but on the real I think Jeff should just chill, he had a good run. I saw a video recently where his speech was ****ed, he was stuttering and mispronouncing ****, staying stuck in sentences, he was just overall choppy and then to hear he looked so badly amkes it all connect in my head, he either needs a long break to heal and refocus or he needs to retire, but he can't just go into another fight without some deep thinking because it's taking a noticeable change on his overall, I hope it doesn't ruin him.. if it's fake then thats some lame ******* ****, either way I think he needs to think things threw.

The saddest news of 2008 thus far.

Lacy looked better than he had since Pre Calzaghe for the first 3-4 rounds against Mendoza but he faded fast so I'd say he looked better than he did against Manfredo,IMO.
