what kills me, is when the calzaghe fans speak of joe... The one thing they come up with ALWAYS is EUBANK... lol it kills me... Hopkins was knocked down twice, and you could make a case for Mercado deserving the decision.

Hopkins was a much better fighter, as he proved in the rematch in America, but I think that the altitute affected him and he clearly wasn't at his best that night.

Agreed, although I'd argue that Hopkins knocked him down several times as well but for some reason, they were just "slips." Furthermore, I thought Hops deserved it. And judging by the draw, the judges thought so too.
