Whats a good fight to watch to understand the kind of skills that a Young Calzaghe possessed?

Hopkins would have mopped the floor with ***zaghe in his prime. He put him on the floor as a senior citizen 5 months after Cal***gits career best performance.

I had a 43 year old Hopkins beating Calzaghe so I obviously favor a prime Hopkins as well.

Just a bad styles matchup for Calzaghe. Bhop exploits all of his weaknesses, makes him pay for every mistake, is technically more sound and knocking Hopkins out is almost impossible. JC simply can't win on sloppy activity alone.

I sad for everyone really. Sad for Calzaghe because he will just not be seen as he imagined he was, sad for Hopkins (despite being an ******* at times) because his loss really didn't represent him being bested, and more of all to Jones because he is a living legend and it isn't even the case of the older fighter passing on his testimony (Calzaghe will retire after the fight or one more tops) to a younger lion of similar quality, it's more of a selling out of a legacy to someone who won't even be able to conserve it intact and perfect as it was created when Jones beat Ruiz.

After that strain to his body Jones should just have retired, after Ruiz, and today we would be looking at a myth, a bookmark of what the perfect fighter would be like. Jones was in his prime very close to perfect really and to this day, no one has really show so much in-ring dominance at the technical level.

This topic got beat to death after the fight. Hopkins would win 4 sho. Quicker and more aggressive back in the day.
