Roy was at MW before Hop. Trinidad had potent power at 160, he KO'd a very solid champ in Joppy. Trinidad was a welter who went up 13 pounds. Trinidad wasn't really out gunned for power in that fight, in fact Trinidad might had a little more pop in his punches, he just didn't have the chin to handle Hopkins.

Trinidad blew up to much bigger weights then Hop did. Hop walked around at 168-170, Trinidad walked around at 180-190. Say what you want Hopkins was not bigger then Trinidad, but he was bigger then DLH.

But it doesn't matter, a win is a win. Trinidad knocked out a true middleweight in Joppy to win a middlweight belt before he fought Hopkins. He was 40+ and 0 and on top of the p4p list.

He was the heavy favorite and everybody was looking forward to a RJJ - Trinidad fight and then Hopkins spoiled it.

Would you take away credit from Baldomir if he had defeated the smaller Floyd Mayweather? Just like Tito Trinidad, Floyd was unbeaten and moving up in weight.

The fact that baldomir couldn't do it is another matter.

Neither had stellar careers.... 80% of the people on Hopkins's ledger are nobodies but fans on here make out they're better cos he's "from da state's" and 80% of people on Joe's record weren't great but they're a LOT better than the average NSB member makes out.

I went for Joe to shade it, largely because one has the W (however close and at whatever age) over the other.

Eubank, (prime) Reid, Lacy, Kessler, Woodall, Mitchell, (old) Hopkins... Joe's career wasn't THAT bad.

              Hopkins by far

You have to be a pretty biased Joe fan to call it the other way.

The fact that at 43 B-Hop gave Joe the fight of his life should be enough proof that he is the better man, and holds the better resume.

And its funny how people try to discredit his wins over formally smaller opponents...

so why does trinidad look fat in his fights at 160 and above? he doesn't look anything like he looks at 147,hatton fights at 140 but they say he goes up to about 180 when he doesn't fight so does this mean that hatton is as big as bernard? who the **** is joppy?

While it's close to some and Joe does have a victory head to head.

When comparing legacies, you also compare overall skill and ability. And Hopkins by far is the more skilled fighter.

It's like comparing Delahoya and Whitaker. Oscar has a win and and pretty good accomplishments but you compare them skill4skill and we all know that Pernell is going down as a better fighter legacy wise.
