Maybe. As a Calzaghe fan I guess I just find Ricky pretty funny.

Tarver is the only one he beat that was anywhere near his size.

Maybe Joe should've fought Ivan Calderon so he'd have a "name" on his record too.

is trinidad a natural middleweight? trinidad couldn't phase roy jones with his punches and jone supposedly has a glass jaw
winky wright is a 154 fighter who had to move up to 175 to fight hopkins even though hopkins fought the majority of his carrer at middleweight
oscar delahoya had 2 fights at 160 and both of them should of been losses, oscar has never fought another fight at 160 after that
jones, calzaghe and taylor all beat hopkins

Now Hopkins. If Joe beats RJJ, Pavlik, and either Winky or Abraham he gets the nod.

All the great fighters at that time were beloe middleweight and they wanted to move up RJJ-style and win more titles and Hopkins stopped them.

If you can make the weight you are the same size. Hopkins in reality is a true middleweight because he trained to be a middleweight being on weight all year round.

And then he moved up two weight classed and dominated the Ring Light-heavy champ. And don't worry about Ivan calderons, Joe has fought plenty of creampuffs who were natural super-middles. There was no way for him to fight any great fighters from 1997 to 2005 when he was hiding out in Whales fighting who the WBO organization appoints as his mandatory.

Btw, Hopkins is slowly killing Joe in the polls.

who are these great fighters that were below middlewight fighting at middleweight? oscar? trinidad?
if you can make the weight that does not make you the same size, oscar and trinidad look out of shape at 160 and wright looks out of shape at 175
bernard started his career at 175 and was draining himself to make middleweight so he was a much bigger man than oscar wright and trinidad, even in his fight against calzaghe he refused to be weighed the day of the fight, i wonder why?

                      Maybe it nothing.

But maybe it's because he was off for almost a year and added a couple of pounds. I'm not saying he wasn't bigger then those guys, I'm saying he belonged at that weight because he had no trouble making weight.

As long as 6ft tall Corrales could make weight for 135 he belonged there. But we all know, weight and strength don't win you fights alone, skills do.
