He waited this long, waits for RJJ to be 39, Hop to be 40. It really just isn't impressive. Lacy was way green and obviously overrated. I mean honestly Joe faced a lot of solid fighters but only a few good fighters. Eubank was a bit past himself when Joe got a hold of him.
Been calling them both out for years.

Hopkins blatantly ducked him and Jones chose easier fights.

Hopkins and Kessler >>> Taylor and Miranda
Whoever does the p4p ratings is smoking crack; Hopkins has lost 3 of his last 5 fights and he is ranked in the top 5... excuse me while I wipe that off my shoe.

Further, if you're going to buy into that rating, you've got to give Taylor his due for beating bHop (which he did in the 2nd fight just as convincingly as Joe did).

And at what point did he move up a division and become a mandatory? When did he seek him out? Honestly, he didn't move up, he didn't come looking for more, he didn't move down. He wasn't out to find a better opponent, WBO wasn't even recognized till the nineties come on.

Joe is just not a guy who wanted challenges, he showed no effort in putting them together. Yeah Hopkins priced himself out, but why should cal a WBO belt holder be given the "main attraction" wages, he simply wasn't one.

He didn't even go after unification till 06'.

Just get off of his nuts.

Hopkins was a ***** for not taking him imo, but there was better lists of opponents. He could have made him self a mandatory and went up to RJJ, Pavlik put a challenge in 2 divisions heavier, hell Williams did it as well and we all think he is crazy.

calzaghe is slightly better resume wise with his top fights, but not by much! The thing is pavlik just turned 26, and joe is 10 yrs senior so i would expect his resume of top competition to be much, much better than pavliks, yet it is not!

So Calzaghe has to sweat out 8lbs or bulk up 7lbs? Which is it? Calzaghe made it perfectly clear he'd move up to 175 to fight Jones. Jones was actually the one who said he wanted to come to 168.

Who cares about becoming mandatory? **** mandatories, we wanna see the best fights. Clinton Woods was Jones' mandatory but wouldnt everyone have preferred Calzaghe instead. Obviously a bigger threat and a bigger risk which Jones didnt like.

How do you figure Calzaghe was given the better cut? Hopkins was offered a huge sum of money, agreed and then ducked out. Theres no way to turn that round and blame Calzaghe.

                      What?

The resume of both fighters from best to worse.

                      1. Mikkel Kessler
                      2. Bernard Hopkins
                      3. Chris Eubank
                      4. Jermain Taylor
                      5. Jeff Lacy
                      6. Charles Brewer
                      7. Byron Mitchell
                      8. Robin Reid
                      9. Richie Woodhall
                      10. Omar Sheika
                      11. Sakio Bika
                      12. Mario Veit
                      13. David Starie
                      14. Edison Miranda

Nowhere near Calzaghe in terms of resume.
