those People who left that fight came right back for his next fight...
More important His next fight broke every record in boxing..

          So what is your point..?

Floyd completely dominated and outclass Baldomir...Period That Fight Showed Everybody if Floyd wanted too, He could win every round because his defense is that good.. Floyd show everybody That night, what a boxer is.
          Not a brawler,Not a Slugger, but a boxer...

Boxing is a chess match believe it or not...
and people who dont under stand the game, and make the wrong moves lose.

**** I am a die hard laker fan, and i will admit when we blew out the nuggets in the playoffs, I left in the 4th quarter to beat traffic.

LOL, u make is sound as if beating Baldomir was a career defining win. Yes Floyd shut him out, but IT WAS EXPECTED! And no, people did not leave only because it was a shutout. They left because it was boring as ****!

Yes his next fight broke records, but do u think that happened due to his stunning performance against Baldomir?....NO. It happened because he fought the biggest draw in the sport, and had a tremendous marketing campaign to push the fight.

What good is being a part of the biggest fight in boxing history, if its only going to be remembered as the most overhyped fight in boxing history? That fight left the fans with a sour taste in thier mouths.

              If you read the poll...
The Question was why is Floyd a Draw..?
31 Voters: Said It was Because He is Notorious
10 Voters: Said It was Because He was Popular..
That 41 Voters concluding that he is a draw.

More people agreed he was a draw rather than disagreed...
And the People who disagreed Are Boxing scenes Biggest Hypocrites because they Talk about Floyd the most, but yet he is not a draw to them...

Floyd notoriety and fame is what sell's the fight's not his popularity ....
Floyd being "Notorious".... sells the fight

People just don’t come to see Floyd lose just like they just didn’t come to see Ali lose...

People come because they are interested in Floyd.
He is a "hot rod" for debate as we see in the millions of threads, articles, stories, and interviews we see made about him....

If you think Floyd wasn’t half the reason for the first de la hoya P.P.V numbers then your crazy...

If you think Floyd wasn’t Majority of the reason for the Hatton fight then you’re crazy...

Floyd's widespread reputation of being "Notoriously" a great fighter and an Arrogant Person is what makes Floyd the most famous fighter in the game...

HBO, WWE, Rock Star understands this that's why they give him so much money...

The whole Boxing world Understands this that's why he is the most "Famously Celebrated" fighter in the sport.....

Oscar is the most Popular Fighter in the Sport
Floyd is the most "Notorious".... and "Celebrated"

Floyd like it or not, Is the 2nd Biggest Draw in the sport not because he is popular.....It is because he is "Notorious"....

The question in this thread had nothing to do with him being notorious or a draw. Him having a big fanbase was what was in question, and the answer is no. He doesnt have a big fanbase. Yes he's known, yes he has drawing power, but no he doesnt have a large fanbase. If he did, it would've been quite obvious during his fights.

If you agree that he has drawing Power, Who is he drawing to the fights...?
who is paying for his fights..?

Floyd Mayweather is the most "Notorious" fighter in the game... He is without a doubt the most “Famous”His "Fame" is second to only Oscar among Active Fighters
He is the most "Revered" boxer in the game... Floyd will never be the most Popular (loved) fighter right now because he has chosen to take the bad guy road... it doesn't meaned he isn't popular but he is more Notorious right now rather than Popular.

And the Common denominator between a fighter who's draw steams from Popularity or Being Notorious.

Is that They have People Supporting them. in the same way.

                    Money and Attendance...

                    And Mayweather Supporters bring Both.

By your Logic Ali didn't have a fan base early in his career either..
because he was not beloved, instead he was revered..

(Ali didnt become beloved until he dodge the war) remember that.

Some of the most "Famous and successful" people history has ever known
Have been more "Notorious" than Popular... or Have been "Notorious" before they became "Popular"

                    Al Capone
                    2pac
                    Biggie
                    Ali
                    Malcolm X
                    Kobe Bryant
                    Terrell Owens
                    Deion Sanders
                    Britney Spears
                    Charles Barkley
                    Scarface (Tony Montana)
                    The list goes on....
