Looks like Floyd was right, Cottos fanbase isn't big enough for a mega fight...yet
It even says so in this article.
I wonder how much of it is the heat and how much of it is the fighters in the ring.

Yet, nobody in the boxing world is buying. Odd.Fan of screaming black men. Do u realize that when Floyd was first interested in a fight with Oscar, they were about 3 weight-classes apart, and Floyd had yet to even headline a ppv. Cotto and Floyd are both in the same weight-class, both are undefeated and in thier primes, both have headlined ppv's, and this is a fight that the entire boxing world is calling for.
Your comparison of Oscar making Floyd wait, to that of Floyd making Cotto wait is waaaay off!Comment

Ask yourself this:
1) if this fight was mayweather-margarito, would it be sold out?
2) if this fight was mayweather-cotto, would it be sold out?
Enough said.Comment

Oscar Fought Floyd to Enhance his Legacy And Get a Lucrative Payday
SRL fought Hagler to Enhance his legacy And Get a Lucrative Payday
Ricky Hatton fought to Floyd to Enhance his Legacy And Get a Lucrative Payday
Oscar fought Tito to Enhance his Legacy And Get a Lucrative Payday
SRL fought Hearns to Enhance his Legacy And Get a Lucrative Payday
This are very good points, well presented and well said but if Cotto beats Margarito then i for one would think he has reached the stage where IF he fights Mayweather then he would ADD to Mayweather's legacy NOT financially.
But if he beats Margarito and a williams that beats Pavlik then he would ADD/enhance Mayweather's legacy and financially.Comment

Stop it with the multi-font-color coded crap. What is this, pre-school? Damn. Gives me a ****ing headache. If you agree that he has drawing Power, Who is he drawing to the fights...?
who is paying for his fights..?
Floyd Mayweather is the most "Notorious" fighter in the game... He is without a doubt the most “Famous”His "Fame" is second to only Oscar among Active Fighters
He is the most "Revered" boxer in the game... Floyd will never be the most Popular (loved) fighter right now because he has chosen to take the bad guy road... it doesn't meaned he isn't popular but he is more Notorious right now rather than Popular.
And the Common denominator between a fighter who's draw steams from Popularity or Being Notorious.
Is that They have People Supporting them. in the same way.
Money and Attendance...
And Mayweather Supporters bring Both.
By your Logic Ali didn't have a fan base early in his career either..
because he was not beloved, instead he was revered..
(Ali didnt become beloved until he dodge the war) remember that.
Some of the most "Famous and successful" people history has ever known
Have been more "Notorious" than Popular... or Have been "Notorious" before they became "Popular"
Al Capone
2pac
Biggie
Ali
Malcolm X
Kobe Bryant
Terrell Owens
Deion Sanders
Britney Spears
Charles Barkley
Scarface (Tony Montana)
The list goes on....
Apart from that, stop slobbering over Floyd's knob. It's disgusting.
