Skillwise: Mayweather jr. all time?

Yeah the Judah fight was interesting....Judah was beating his ass...then Floyd said **** it time to get my Ricky Hatton on and he just came foward the rest of the fight and Judah looked lost.Comment

Defense is obviously ATG stuff from Floyd. I mean, damn, who could hit him?
He is good on the inside, but I wouldn't say great...
He is insanely good at fighting on the outside, so I would give him great in that category as well.
I like his lead right a lot, and it is pretty effective... I just wish he would have put some power into it. Do you remember how he was throwing it against Baldomir? It was basically a jab from the back hand.Comment

Just because he is the best fighter right now (meaning everyone else probably wishes they have his talents) doesn't mean he is great at everything.
Do you think his workrate is on par with Williams... or the best workrate in the sport, Margarito?
Seriously? I could probably name a fighter who is better than Floyd at each and every category (obviously minus a couple)... but overall, Floyd is the best because the entirety of the package blends together well enough to put him head and shoulders above everyone in defense, and good enough at offense that he has been able to beat everyone (and almost all of them pretty easily).Comment

shocking? really? even after lookin at his screen name? hahaMy god...
You rated him exceptional in every single ****ing category...
Dude, he's good in all of those, but... you think both his right hand and left hook are ATG material? Shocking. They are good and effective, but they really don't change fights on a regular basis.
One thing that is lacking from Floyd's game is workrate, which gives the false impression that he has an incredible stamina. He never slows down in the later rounds, but then again, he never really goes nuts in the first few rounds, so... he never really breaks the amount of punches that most fighters get tired after throwing.Comment

He's good at everything not great, he doesn't fight well going forward. His power isn't one punch power. His jab isn't great but it offsets fighter not used as an offensive tool like Holmes, Taylor and Pavlik. Fight greati n the pocket though and top class defense. The Combos against Gatti are because it was against Gatti...
His body work is used sparingly he jabs to the body and only goes to the body if there is NOTHING else to hit. He isn't god like you claim, his inside work isn't ATG standard either. Lots of Welters would give him hell as would some lightweights.Comment

The guy is undefeated and a champion at 4 different weight classes, meaning he beat four champions to get their title. Without question the man is one of the "all-time" best. He does toot his own horn but as one of my teachers in HS used to say "if you don't toot your own horn who will?"
Everytime he opens a boxing magazine there are articles to help feed his ego, but the articles are based on what he did in the ring, stories that later turn into the basis for historical archives. I've posted PBF's record in several of my answers and won't get redundant here. He beat Castillo, Corrales and Hernandez just to name a few, but those few were top notch themselves. He is in my top ten at SuperFeather for sure.
Being a great one SHOULD be skills, yes i admit no ones tested Mayweather, but no ones been able to test Mayweather, hes just that good.
I guess you forgot all of the fighters Floyd Mayweather has destroyed without having to trade punches, and he beat De La Hoya, yes he ran, but yes he won and thats what he had to do.
Im on everyones side in thinking Mayweather still needs to put on a show at the big stage, but even if he doesn't thats not a reason to completley erase him from the record books because he beat all of your "guts and glory" brawlers without ever shedding blood.Comment

He backpedals against bigger opponents and lets them do the leading he counters he doesn't control the ring. Against smaller opponents he can but against larger opponents he cannot.Comment

At welter he didn't let anyone test him.... he wasn't ducking them per say but he certainly never expressed a want to fight the best at 147,140The guy is undefeated and a champion at 4 different weight classes, meaning he beat four champions to get their title. Workrate thats irrelevant....any boxer can just throw countless punches..but why do that when you have pin point accuracy and rarely miss.Just because he is the best fighter right now (meaning everyone else probably wishes they have his talents) doesn't mean he is great at everything.
