this will be a boring fight if guzman doesn't engage pacman.

This poll is ridiculous, of course he can beat Pacquiao, just like Buster Douglas could beat Tyson. The more I think about it, though, the more I think that there is no way that Guzman's punches can keep Manny honest. He hasn't knocked anyone out in like 5 years and his power will diminish even more at lightweight. Manny has the speed to catch him and the power to possibly put him away, I think he would win convincingly.

I'd bet A LOT of points on Guman if they ever fought. Pacquiao isn't fading, but he has peaked. (Second or third Morales fight would be when I saw it, personally) And in his peak, Guzman could have still given him fits. Now, that Guzman himself is peaking, naturally, it's a hard fight for Manny.

Yes, he CAN. My pick, he will.

When was Ivan Calderons last KO?

He seems to be doing a lot with his feather-fisted ways, and the division he's in.

Point being, sticking and moving can work if you're GREAT at it. Guzman, is.

I am a Guzman fan; I haven't seen his fights from when he was a KO artist at the lower weights, but recently he has looked unhittable at times with blinding handspeed and great ring generalship. That being said, he has never faced anyone with Manny's blend of speed/power and I can't see how moving up to 135 could benefit him. Manny is much more natural at the weight and will be able to throw his whole arsenal of punches since he doesn't have to worry as much about getting hurt by a counter.

All this being said, I really hope the fight gets made so we can see who's right.

The thing is, Guzman even with his tendency to trade, if he respects pacmans power enough, roger mayweather and company will have him prepared not to just be standing there. pacman has a problem when you come after him with combinations, im dead serious on this. even in the barrera fight, when you actually engage with pacman he stops what hes doing, sure he trades, but if you have good handspeed, pacman has a problem with that, it seems to me anyone who can throw solid combinations can stop manny in his tracks, i am not concerned about power, because time and again i have found out the hard way that knocking out fighter A doesnt mean you gonna knock out fighter C just because he doesnt punch hard. Mannys power at 135 is being drastically overrated by fighting a guy who was there to be hit and beaten to death.

I like your posts. Really I think you're one of the few here that is really very objective(on what ive read at least).

I see you have 62K pts. Would you reserve all that and bet it against me if this fight gets made?

                  * did roger train guzman? or is it Sr.?

You say it's ridiculous but at the same time you said there is NO WAY Guzmans punchers can keep Manny honest.

I never seen Pac fought against a slick fighter.. Pac's experience will beat Guzman.
